Im working on mixing a song right know
I wanted the bass to sound lighter so i did cut a lot of low frequensis from it and added som high with an eq. I almost got the bassound i want but now the bassound start to sound noisy and it clicks , i believe that channel is almost at
maximum volume but i still don´t get that "lighter , brighter bassound.
What should i do ? should i remake the bass
or is it an eq issue or does anyonehave any other suggestions ?
Best regards Conny

if it's clipping i would suggest not eq boosting the higher frequencies, but just letting them through. then up the volume on the channel.

you mentioned "click" - synths like VB1 do that, and if its not what you want you might want to try another synth.

I would also suggest using midi notes that are a bit higher in key. Somewhere in this forum there is a list of notes and their dominant frequency. Try to aim your fundamental frequency between 60 and 80 hz and see what that gets you.           An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

i have a list of the frequencies and the correspondence.. if you want i can send it by e-mail

Since this tuning is mathematically derived, a song will sound "correct" when
played in a different key          http://www.bhooteshwara-records.com

i think what u need is eq with low cut (hp) from around 40-70... very depend on what original preset u use... also cut in mid /low mid that abit will give u 2 thing: 1 is the hole sound is abit brighter and 2 the bass freq will come from its 50-250 as needed (250-500 can sound dirty/muddy in bass - take about -10 db and sweep through freq to hear where u like it). i'd go with high cut (lp) around 6000-8000 to not loose the original bright freqs. cut around 2000 can give more space to the drums and synths tho...           www.sattelbattle.com

Ehm... regarding to the Frequency-chart linked above: A C0-note has a wavelength of 2100 cm?!? That seems to be very long to me... or didn't I read it correctly? What do you think?           www.myspace.com/mentris
