My Numark PHX malfunctioned in six months. I got Technics after being advised by a friend who works in a record store that sells all major brands.

Go for Technics , they are very good .
Very sturdy & good sound.

Ok my headphone are here!
They have some very good ideas on it.
Look:
In the left ear we have: one botton to switch between LP, HP and Normal. LP=Low Sounds, HP=High Sound and Normal=Normal(lol, hehehe)!
In the right ear we have: On/Off Blue Lead Beats and a place 4 baterry.
Now lets listen it: The Loud sounds are not to big but good quality. The high sounds is great!
Strong? Maybe its look strong but i stay 4 some time 2 afirm this because my "friend Sundrop" break one in fast time.
Apperance: Black(i think it come in blue but...) with two little blue leds(cool but just i lead).
My first look 2 Stanton DjPro3000: I LOVE IT!

Obs: tonight i go play with my friend and he have one Sony700. So i go check them closer and i tell u what we think about bout!
Tks Isratrancers!

technics RP-F880

80 euro
gold covered jack plug-in,
texturized-renforced cable
5(or 8 i don't remeber exactly) khz --> 30000 khz

takes some place, it's very solid and has hell good of a sound even at very loud levels, very comfortable: you won't notice having it on your ears after hours but on the other hand it holds not tight on the head and if you dance like crazy they fall

for me trouble with most earphones is fragility, i have this one since 2 years and they still like new

bye

There is just one Good headphone in earth for djs and music producers, I presente you Seenheiser HD25 !!
Bad design ( simple old school one)
Great sounds ( real bass , clear medium, great low)
light weigh ( you don't feel it )
search in forums about headphones, or just look what professional djs use
peace.

this might sound strange, but here it goes...

I have the sennheiser HD25, a free behringer headphone i got with a mixer, and a 12€philips headphone that's 12 years old.

The behringer is unusable, because it starts to distort and crackle so badly at high volumes that i don't hear anything anymore. The sennheiser is a very good headphone, but i don't hear the kick/drums as good in those phones, everything is softer and turns into a soup. The philips however is an absolute miracle to spin with on parties... It doesn't sound good, but it sounds harsh, so the sounds that matter come thru even if you have a lot of sound leakage from the room, and it never, ever starts distorting, you'll pop your eardrums before this baby starts cracking up...

I know it's surprising, i was very surprised too, i thought the sennheisers would be best, but the cheap philips ones are now my prime choice for parties (and it doesn't cost lots of money if it breaks or if i lose it).

I think you really have to try to recreate the party situation as much as possible to test the headphones before you buy them. But that's hardly ever possible... I just tried every headphone i came across untill i found that philips.

Funny thing about the Sennheisers, I read they had really good isolation and neutral sound.

The Technics I have are colored in the sound, but that is due to the party situation like you also state, the sounds that matter come thru.

Still, I think they need better isolation.

Best Wishes

I'm happy with the rp dj1210.

good sound, doesn't crackle or distort at high volumes and the lows are well amplified. gr8 for mixing.. and sturdy too.. no sweat problems either

I was fairly happy with those as well (I have used the RP DH 1200 + DJ 1210).

Problem with especially the 1210 is that I wear glasses and I get my ears mashed too much, a problem which is smaller with the 1200s because they try more to "surround" the ear - Though, after a few hours it really HURTS and takes up concentration.

I would like the BEST headphones, so I will go thru more of them with time - Ultrasone sounds interesting

But, whats the BEST headphone for one person is not likely to be the best for others - since people are different.

But, the Technics are definately sturdy, and sound wise they enhance the sounds you will be listening for in the mix (+ do not distort).

Best Wishes
