I've read the tutorial on baselines here and on subconscious mind, but my problem is that I use FL Studio, so I don't know how to do some of the things.

Like I don't know how to shorten the kick exactly so there's no interference, and I don't know how to use spectral analysis tools.

But mainly, I can't get the kick to trigger the bass. If you listen to my sample
you can hear that the kick comes closer to the END of the 3 note baseline, instead of triggering it.

And I have no idea how FL Studo lets you do that.

Actually, the previous baseline wasn't what I normally make, what I normally make is worse:

That one the kick or first bass note is really late.

Also, I have my kick and bass in the same octave, is that O.K?
Thanks.

for cutting the kick you also can use a sampler like Battery3, they have a funktion with "ADSR" , thats how i cut my kick, with the smallest effort.

i cant hear your sample atm, but maybe you want to try out another vst for you baseline, following this "processing guide" http://forum.isratrance.com/vb1-problem/

you can download the VB1 for free (virtualbass1).

what i also noticed, i got rolling bassline with monitors, but not with my headphones.

you are sure about yout notelengh and placing them in right timing?

another nice thing is to sidechaincompress ur baseline, but maybe to much for you at the moment

cheers

What Synths do you you have?

To get a rolling type bassline you'll need to adjust the velocity of the notes (ie)

For a kbbb pattern:

(b,1) 50
(b,2) 100
(b,3) 100

Then once you've done that, find the knob that controls how sensitive the velocity will be, press play, start from the bottom and slowly start sweeping up until your bass starts to roll with your kick.

As long as you had a decent kick and bass to begin with you'll just have to add a bit of processing and you should have (the foundations of) a rolling bassline.

I'm using Alien303, Renegade, and Albino for the baselines. I also have some free vsts that I sometimes use for bass.

I also have Massive, which I'm gonna make my bass sounds in as soon as I get familiar with how to make bass sounds.
