mess around with the envelopes a little more. try using a little shorter notes. ie. turn quantize off and just make them a little smaller.

I don't know what kind of specific sound you're going for, but the cutoff opens really fast. If you want it to blend a bit more turn cutoff down a little or mess with the mod envelope and make it open a little differently.

It's all up to you though. Everyone's' psybass sounds different and it should be that way.           www.musicproductionnatural.com || www.facebook.com/djamoeba | facebook page

what didnt he like then? didnt he tell you that?
its a little too highfreq clicky for me..
also the groove is not grooving, so try velocity changes on the bass and also adjust the cutoff on the synth that you use for bass...
add some more depth to the kick...
its way too much high freqs, and not much lowend.. you should start over maybe... just a thought...
have you Eq´d a lot?

what do you use for bass? and kick?

it's funny.my friend said exacly opposite things to you. he said that i killed all the high frequencies of the bass. and he said i should make the decay shorter. he might be right about those things but i like this bassline so i prefer to hear more opinions to know if people agree with my friend.
i searching for the u recken ot gms bassline style.

I dont really understand why you ask for opinions if you like it, do a track instead..

if you make the decay shorter it will only be the transients left and it will be only clicks...
hope you solve it....

i hope you understand that the second example i uploaded is U-RECKEN bassline and not mine.it was example for the sound i'm searching for.my bassline is at the start of the topic
and i ask for opinions because i know that my brain can cheat me sometimes and i can think that things that i did are awsome and they are not...i'm not objective on my job offcourse. and i have a bit problem with lack of low frequncies at my "studio" so maybe i still don't acknowledge how the bass should sounds in my studio to sounds good everywhere.

If your happy with it, I'm happy with it.

I bet a lot of people would hate my bass, because there's not much bass in it . I aint changing it for no one though!!!

I always hate my bass until the tune's finished and I can work it properly.

be true to yourself and think critical.

do u have the URS eq bundle? If so use N12...great for freq @ 350hz @3.5khz or 4khz on the bass...

What is your synth set up mate? What are your parameters ? Eg cuttoff, modmatrix, filterenvelope ampevelope ??

If that is the case mate, chek with decent headphones from time to time.

Just had a listen to that - here is a few tricks to make it sound more like the pro sample you had

- first of all, change that kick. sounds like a bad sample, there's a lot of kick sample packs out there, choose a better one
- your notes are too long. use something like smexoscope to help you with note length, so you can see how long the note actually is in audio terms and are not just blindly messing around with midi.
- make sure your amp envelope is nice and tight as well. you typically dont want to have much or any release at all on your bass notes for this kind of a bass
- filter envelope should have a very short or nonexistant attack, very small decay (depending on how audible of a click you want to have), no sustain/release
- use some distortion on your bass

Have you gone through the mother of all basslines threads ? I'm sure all of this and more is already in there.

Goodluck.

I think you need to work first with everything clean, No FX just good sounds and sound source from beginning..

Good luck, we all go through this intense work with bass and kick untill you just come to a point where its time to create music

it's always time to create music. i think you can make amazing track without amzing bass although i prefer to have good bassline...many good and succesfull artists don't have very good bassline.
anyway i have problem with bass in my room..i 'v heard today the bassline in a good studio and i heard that my bassline lacks bass...maybe the big problem is that my first sound before all the eq's compressor and stuff is not good enough. i opened today cronox and played with it just for a few minitues and it has realy good sound. i still didn't use it. maybe i should... i will upload a sample later

i used sylenth1 as vst. dacay at the amp enveople not very short but short. at the filter envelope a bit longer. no attack, release or sustain. cutoff quite closed..i've put on it vintage warmer, urs fulltec eq, cubase 5 compressor, cubase 5 compresson with side chain and oxford limiter. i realy true with myself at my "studio" it's sound for me realy good and i'm not the only one to say it. i believe the people here that i have a problem.
