most sub woofer units cant produce good sub basses .,
and i can get my stupid old spirit zero's to move at 4 hertz.
so it's a trick question!.,

the REAL statement is that you should NEVER make music on an uncalibrated subwoofer.,
if it's not calibrated to your main monitors you get a wrong picture of the sound.,
also, a subwoofer smears the timing and is phase incoherent., so this might be a problem too .,,
another point is that most people dont hear the music with a subwoofer so why use up resolution when nobody is goint to hear it?.,
normal bass already takes up a lot of bits so think twice about how much sub you put in the music!
but for psy this is maybe different as the music is for PA's.,.,
turbosound, the next gen for nearfield monitoring,. 
remember that the last two point are tips for starting musicians., configuring a good subwoofer is difficult if you dont have enough feel for sound.,
experienced people sometimes use it but a lot of pro's never touch subwoofers., so,.
