what's the different between Psychedelic Trance, Trance, House, club, and techno?? |

These are different types of electronic music.
It's like asking what's the difference between Rock, Heavy Metal, Hard Rock.
Psychedelic Trance is what this site is mainly about. Trance is a big name which includes psytrace, goa trance, club trance and all other types of trance. House is a harder genre, mostly played in clubs. Club is anything you play in a club. Techno.. is... umm... ask other people :) |

All of these are MY definitions, not anyone elses, so don't get pissed off everybody :)
Psychedelic trance, by definition, is a subset of trance which is a psychedelic version of the main style.
The definition of trance (IMO) is a subset of dance music which works through the mind to make you dance, not just make you dance by any means.
House is defined as a subset of dance music which makes you dance through groove (usually groove alone).
Club-trance is the subset of trance which is tailor made for clubs - which involves making as many people move to it. That means - work by what is effective to most people. In short - mega commercial trance.
Techno on the other hand, is a subset of dance music which is based on power, and that's why the most violent and aggressive music I've discussed.
Psytrance is moving a bit closer to techno, and sometimes the lines between the styles blend a bit, but they're just different.
Hear music from each type, you'll reach your own conclusions is probably a better way to define them for you :) |
