Can a shortcut be made for this and how? (Ableton)

Is there a way to make a shortcut key to open the first midi instrument in the channel you have selected? It would be nice to be able to select a channel, press one button and have my synth pop up (assuming it's the first midi in the channel), rather than the daunting task of mouse clicking.

Any help would be great. I'm on A8.1.5 on a pc and I don't have max, however if it's doable in max that would be nice to know.

ctrl+alt+p should normally do that!
you mean that? but unfortunately no single key shortcut for that :/

You can do it with a Novation controller that uses Automap.

Looks like ctrl alt p will have to do. Thanks, I hadn't seen that on any shortcut lists.

why the fuck can't you bind your own shortcuts in ableton. seems like such an incredibly simple feature to add.

On the PC, the <AltGr> key is equivalent to <Ctrl><Alt>... makes things a little easier at the right-hand side of the keyboard!

Try <AltGr>L and <AltGR>B
