I tested it, the output-quality is horrible. Atleast thats how i experienced it. So much work put into 29312 zillion filters and modulation possibilites and yet they cannot put more effort into the soundengine.
terrible!

Alchemy sounds great to me. I'm not sure what happened when you tried it but I guess each person has their own idea of what sounds good. Though I really don't think there is something inherently wrong with the audio engine, it sounds like very good quality to me.

Same here, I thought it sounds amazing! Very balanced and clear sound. Really great! So many possibilities with it. |

I tried this synth and I must say I like the user interface and the workflow VERY much. But I stopped the idea of using it when I noticed how much RAM it uses. I loaded many Alchemy instances to Ableton Live, without even loading patches, First instance took like 150MB ram, Second instance 60MB, third instance 120MB, in average 90MB per instance. So if you use let say 5 Alchemy instances, you will definitely have like 500MB only for them.
Do you know if they have any plans to optimize the memory usage of the synth. In comparison Absynth v4 (the most similar synth that I have found) first instance takes 60MB, and every instance after that only 23MB.

i tried it out for about 30mins.
at first it was all a big mess, later i found out how to import audio files and manipulat them... i think you can get cool stuff out of it!
the synth itself is also not bad... much filteroptions, nice routing function, couldnt find i thing i didnt can do with it!
very handy options comes with the synth. (example the XY window, wich you can rout automatically to your uses funktions.)
its worth a try, when i got more time ill check it out again, this experimental beast^^
cheers
