Hey there,

Once again I have a warped psy track...
The thing is that I need all of you movers and groovers who are in the know to help me out. The sounds are there, the story is there, but if its not too much to ask please could you help me out with some constructive crit on composition and quality (What works, what doesn't). I would greatly appreciate this and pay the favour back with hopefully some top-notch orgasms for your earholes.

The track is called "Snap" and you can find it at www.myplay.com

well, you have quite a sonic assult here, my friend. but there are way too much overtones and it clatters everything up and messes everything. level down your melodies, soften them a bit with some EQ and reverb, punch that kick of yours a bit more with a compressor, and boet, work on those break-ins/break-outs - it should be seamless, but with your track, i might as well call up my taylor.
most of the sounds are Ok, but you need to learn how to level everything to a perfect mix, so when somone hears it, he won't wonder "what in the hell was this Oak thinking?"
all the best

ShweeT! thanx Jason, very true words and I do realise that my stuff is harsh, ruff round the edges 'n all. I assure you that this will be no more soon. I've had alot of trouble isolating many of the freq's on my synths lately, so what I might do is just cut some out.

's...

Would it help if I ran some of my synths through a high pass filter and then added reverb? What did you think of the bassline? And then about the "break-ins/break-outs" maybe a 4 bar dropout on all initial sounds and so on?

Jason basically covered everything. I love the old school structure and leads, but maybe some heavier percussion work is in order (Juno Reactor like) - or a more progressive structure (a la Prometheus).

Or a TB line and make it more Green Nuns-ish (I have a weakness for GNOTR)           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

hehe! yeah, GNOTR rock. I was trying to get that old school feel into the track - makes it less aggresive 'n all. Give me some time and I'll see if I can put this track up a "quality" notch.

What I'll do is:

-more progression less mess
-redo kick/bassline combo
-rework composition
- + mental percussion

omg! that's a whole new track, almost.
