Hello,

some local graffitti artists recommended using a fabric/canvas called calico for painting backdrops...

Have any of you used this or heard anything about it?

It works out a lot cheaper than cotton but I can only find it in "canvas" colour.

Thanks!

Calico is made from unbleached, and often not fully processed, cotton. It may contain unseparated husk parts. The fabric is less coarse and thick than canvas but owing to its unfinished and undyed appearance, it is still very cheap.
Because calico IS unbleached, and not dyed, cotton, the colour you found it in is the only one it comes in. It also shrinks greatly when wet.           _____________________________________
