Cakewalk sonar is a sequencer and multi-track recorded which is similar to the original cakewalk. Sonar includes DXi virtual synthesizers, audio loops, sound fonts and more. It's 2 CDs, and IMO, if you have the original cakewalk + hardware equipment, you don't need it.

Looks like the competition with Steinberg (Cubase) is going well :-)

OMG!
I'm so sorry!

I've seem to misled you about the VST and ASIO support. I was tired earlier :-).

Anyway, i re-checked it just to make sure, and Sonar doesn't support nor VST neither ASIO.

Oh, and here is some more info about what's included (on the XL version):

Sonar XL provides all of the capabilities of Sonar, plus these additional  DXi  soft  synths,  audio  loop  libraries, and a SoundFont library:
-Alien Connections' ReValver SE FX
-Applied  Acoustics  Systems'  Tassman  2.0 dxi (full version)
-Numerical Sound Percussion Wall loops
-Expanded PowerFX sampler
-Smart loops sampler
-Sonic Implants SoundFont library
-SquareWAV Studios Essential Rock Loops vol 1

Sorry for the misunderstanding,
Tom.

Ok so I guess I'll switch to Cubase once I get a good sound card.
