hey people!
i have a channel with a base, and a channel
with a kick.
i inserted a c1 with sc compressor on the
bass channel in order that the kick will
attenuate it when they play together...ducker...well the problem is,
i cant seem to find the key input of the
sc on the c1 compressor, in order to tell him
channel one (kick channel) to go into the key input...how do i do so?

Hello!

Here are some links to this topic - the first talks about using TC Works Sidechainer, the second discusses Waves C1 sc.

Hope that helps!

ok...then from what i read from the previouse topic theres no way to insert
a channel into a key input in the side chain
of a compressor but select a spesiefic
frequency that would be compressed...
but weres the idea of the side chain compression? i want the kick to compress the
bass that means the kick is inserted into
the side chait of the compression that is
inserted on the bass...how do i insert it
then?

Here's a guide to using the kick to compress the bass.

http://forum.isratrance.com/viewtopic.php/topic/40680/forum/2

Basically you're going to need four tracks to do this - one for kick, one for bass, and two group tracks. The reason you have two group tracks is that the output of Waves C1 SC is panned either hard left or right when doing side-chain compression, so the second group track forces the bass to mono (you'll make the second group track mono).

But those instructions have all the info you need.

Check out this file http://filebox.vt.edu/users/amarano/Side%20Chaning.cpr to see the instructions in action.

Hope that helps!

Here's a link to a link to my guide again, with an extra bit underneat that explains how to pan an aux send on the kick channel:

http://forum.isratrance.com/viewtopic.php/topic/43412/forum/2/start/20

You don't need two group channels, by the way, only one. You can change panning modes on the group channel and simply pan the side with the bass into the centre.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

Colin 000D was the originator of my knowledge on this - all thanks and blessings of god belong to him.
