Hello
is there any way i can extract the sounds from the C&C Generals pc game??
the music is in a .big-file..
anyone have any idea?

what kind of soundcard do you have? I usually take directsound output back to analog input and then out from analog output so you can record anything you can hear from your normal output (for games etc) with f.ex. Soundforge.
oh, and I have Terratec EWS 88MT
this works with me |

if you have wavelab, just record the audio card input in the record menu.
just press the record button and start recording,

thx Input. I tried that, it works.. but the sound is so weird. so much bass, and the other sound sounds kinda in the background u know.. have i done something wrong?? |

well man, i don't know the game- but it suppose to record it just as it sounds,
check the games sound options (stereo, 5.1, quality etc.)
check wavelab settings for audio recordings(44khz 16bit, stereo)
if you want to record a specific sound(speak, FX, Music) then try to isolate it from the other sounds then do EQ, Normalize and compression if needed-

I know they use lots of vocal samples from the "Deepest India" Sample CD's. I recognized one of the voice samples from a trance CD I have (forgot which one).
