getting used to how the music needs to sound on the bx8's, so that i know if it sounds like this on them, then it sounds good and fat, but clear and crisp on other sound systems. Also i bought stands for them, and you can adjust the bass, mid and hi, three levels each, on the back of the speakers. |

a question about these:
do they need an ampli or can we plug them straight from the soundcard/preamp?
Thanks! |

@ orange-atropa
I was also thinking of the samson rubicon 6a but some people on this forum said they weren't good although i read some nice reviews..
I also read a really good review of the new Tannoy reveal 5a..Which would you recommend if you had to choose between the Rubicon & the reveal?

Mercuryfall if a monitor is "active" that means it comes with a built-in amplifier so yes you can plug them directly into your soundcard..
@ orange-atropa thanks man i guess i'll try & listen to them both before i decide.. http://www.soundcloud.com/getafixmusic |

Getting used to: Worked on Bx8's for two years, and took me long time to know how music had to sound on them to sound good on other sound systems. Bx8's sound good but are not really representative, by that i mean the music does not sound on other sound systems thay way it sounds on Bx8's. The highs are a bit over present, and the mids are missing so you have to adjust sound so it sounds harsh on Bx8's to sound bright enough elsewhere. And the bass response is a bit funny, seems to thud even when bass isnt so loud.
They are decent for the price and sound good, but there are better monitors out there. With practice i was able to get my mixes to sound good, even when listening to my old mixes on my new monitors was suprised that they sound quite good.
