_my questions are really simple and by the name of this thread, i call only ppl who are familiar with m-audio monitors._

_1st question: which are the actual diffirences between 'studiophile bx8' and the updated 'studiophile bx8a' studio monitors?_

_2nd question: i found several ppl refering to 'bx5' being better than 'bx8'... why may be that? pros/cons? and if 'bx5' are indeed better, are they better than 'bx8a' too?_

_thank you for reading this. waiting for precise answers plz._

bx5 are better then bx8 in terms of clarity stereo image and those compressed middle frequencies i know cos i have bx8 and a friend got the bx5

now differences with the bx8a is in the box better box and i think better woofers on bx8a and i hope they are tuned better as well same goes to bx5a

now i will give you my opinion in monitors this price go for samson rubicon r6a are great set of monitors i think much better then m-audio and all of this price range monitors i have r5a rubicons and i have chosen them from many monitors ive listend go for them

Q1-Bx8 is a passive monitor and Bx8a its an active monitor

Q2- if you have a small room so buy bx5 and if you have big room buy bx8

so do 'bx8a' perform better than 'bx5', and do 'bx5a' also have better performance than 'bx8a' as the previous versions did in the bx5 / bx8 matter ?           extreme

i dont know man for sure but i think they do perform better cos of a softer and more balanced woofer

but you need to give them a listen

I have BX8's, they take some getting used to, but they sound very good. I think the bx8's are same tweater as BX5, but with a bigger woofer, so more bass. Took me ages to tune them for the room and get used to the sound, but am quite happy with them now.

hi, i just bought the m-audio bx5 and i am verry happy with them. the also use them at the sae institut for music so i guess they wouldnt use them if they are no good.
i heard that the older modells should be better then the new ones. cheaper quality.
so go for the old ones!!

i have the bx5 and i m pretty happy with them. i havent listen the bx8 but i think are the same with better bass response due to the bigger woofer. If the thing with the stereo image is true as orange said go with the bx5 and get a sub for them... (if your room can handle it.. my room at the moment and a neighbourd cant )           +-+talking with ali3ns around the universe+-+
