Hi there,
I have Studiophile BX8 monitors and an audiophile 2496 card.
Lately I get a faint buzzing sound in my monitors every 10 minutes or so for a few minutes.
I have tried different cables also...
Has anyone experienced the same??
thanks!!

If it is every 10 minutes check to see if there is anything powering up intermittenly that could be giving it interference. I'm reminded of a time a while ago when I noticed every now and then my monitor (screen) would fade and act strange. I later found out it was due to the microwave in the next room being used.
Not direct help, sorry! |

Do you got a VIA chipset on your motherboard? Audiophile is known to give such problems sometimes if you got VIA - but if you download the latest drivers (it says VIA improved at least) you shouldn't have any problems further. I got VIA + audiophile + latest drivers and it works fine for me. |

It's probably a grounding problem. What you need to do is go to your local hardware and ask for grounding adapters for a three pin socket. Put those on your computer / monitor (screen). See, if that helps. If it doesn't, guess and check by putting the adapters on other things such as your monitors (speakers), clock, etc...
Good luck. |

hmm.,., if it turns on and off periodically then there could be more sources for this.,
check for any motors starting and shutting down.,
with motors i mean stuff like ventilators (inside computer), hard drives spinning up, refrigirators starting their motor (!!), etc, etc.,
depending on your setup (and what you did to prevent ground problems) all kinds of electrical things can make this noise.,
maybe even a mobile phone or something.,
you need to look in your house and try to find the thing that starts together with the sound.,
but, it could be a totaly different problem too., so dont be angry if you dont find it
(in some cases it could even be your neighbors!!)
anyway.,
hope this helps a bit.,
greets.,
