hey everyone,
im thinking about purchasing a nord rack 2X,
in israel it costs about 5800 shekels at music-shop, and at musiciansfriend.com it costs 800 dollars witch is about 3500 shekels, do any of you have experience purchasing over the internet?
i know that with all the shipping it will cost alot more but how much?
the site is american so how do i buy something from an american site and send it here?
from what i know i need to pay 15% extra on maam and with no aditional taxes is this true?
thanx for any help |

i recomend you wait for a friend or family member to go to the states and have them sneak it in.
shippng and taxes are alot of money.

I buy almost everything from the internet and never had a single problem.
What you have to find out is if there are any applicable customs or taxes for purchases from the US in your country.
Usually buying from the States turns out to be not as cheap as it seems, since in the original cheap price of the product, extra customs or taxes are added(depending on the country) plus the shipping costs which can be quite high. And in the end the price ends up the same as buying it from a shop(or at least a bit lower).
Anyway, if the costs turn out for you higher than expected for buying from the States, here's an alternative :
http://www.thomann.de/gb/clavia_nord_rack_2x_synthesizer.html
The final price including economy class shipping is around 4,600 shekels and it'll take 6-9 days.
PS. Buying from US means that you'll probably have to buy also an AC power transformer if the US Nord Racks don't have universal AC input.
A friend told me once that the biggest mistake we make is that we believe we live, when in reality we are sleeping in the waiting room of life. |

from the site you listed it costs 4386 shekels with no shiping and with no taxes so i think your wrong about the final price, but correct me if im wrong because 4600 really is a good deal. |

In Thomann the Nord Rack 2x is listed for 789 euros(in the english page) and 799 euros in the german page. I don't know why is that.
Anyway, 799 euros = 4486 shekels.
Shipping 32.15 euros = 180.517 shekels (today's rates)

I don't know what would be the tax applied from your country for products bought and delivered from other countries. But in any case, if you know any professional studio owner, then he could buy it on his company's name and then deduct the taxes. And in this case you pay him minus whatever the tax would be(if possible of course).

I don't know about musiciansfriend shipping over there, but I've ordered from them in the US many times and everything has been alright. If the price is less, go for it! |
