Omer,

I do not know ms2000 too well, I know some friends of mine have it, but I don't think they saw too many synths altogether to have an objective opinion about it, so I'll answer in general way.

One of the BEST synths ever to produce waves is the JUNO. U can create multitude of analog sounds with the juno and it has the fatness that very few synths can imitate. It is excellent for creating basslines, pads, fat leads, squeaks... basically almost everything... the other side of the coin is that this synth is not new, and may have problems due to it's old age + it may not answer all the wishes of a creator in 2002, because the sounds ppl look for today are definitely different that 5 years ago...

MS2000 ( or any of this kind - I mean new machines ) is a station of pre - made sounds, it's new ( relatively ) has a lot of gadgets and sounds that fit to today's demand. I know better synths in the same status - the Waldorf's and JP8000 to start with - when actually... I have the feeling that the Korg came as an imitation to Roland JP8000 - but much cheaper.

I cannot tell u what u should get... Basically there are better sides in each one of the machines... so you have to weight it... If I was you, and I had to choose I would have a problem.. I'd go for Korg eventually - but not with whole heart, cuz I think this synth ain't that good..

I would go to a place where I can play with them a little to see what kind of sound they produce and see what appeals to me...

More over I would see again Bilbo's suggestion about MIDI controller and the thingy for Reason first thing - it can help you not less than the real mean machines...

Good luck!!!

Thats exectly what you should do, go to a music store and play around with the equipment, then decide which one you like. The korg has its good sides and bad sides, but still its a good synth to begin with.

Actually my advice to you is to wait with buying a new synth. Get some experience with VSTi's - understand what are oscillators, filters and all of the other features. Only then go to a music shop and play with different synths. Tweak the presets, but this time know what you are doing. Find the synth you like more, and buy it.
There is no better synth - an amazing synth to one person may sound terrible to another. Decide for yourself.

I think the best way to learn is with a real synth - not some VSTi

I mean use a VSTi (such as Pentagon, or Pro-52) to learn what is a synth - how it works and what each setting does. Then go and learn on a real synth.

if its for the start the ms 2000 should be good one.but you should
know that he have only 2 midi chnels and 4 polyphone.so you cant bild all the work on him.its mean that you should buy another one some time....but  his sounds worth it.

i went to a store and played with the ms2000
and i've got to say that i was amazed,
i mean the sound was so clean i tought i am
in space
i dont know what about the juno cause they stoped
manfacturing it
so i think i will go for the korg
cause it seemes like it outform the juno
and not vice versa
maybe some day when i will have more money
i will buy the juno
so i can enjoy both worlds
