buy one (two would be better) pioneer CDJ-100S (cd-players) and a pioneer DJM-1000X (mixtable) - this is the standard nowadays! Of course you can get better stuff, also from pionner, like a CDJ-200 or greater - it's your choise. Vestax and Numark are also great! All of this you bought by 1000€ top...

I got a pair of CDJ100s, they are very good, highly recommended.

Actually on the next party Im playing, they got CDJ1000 that I never played before, is anybody familar with those, and if there is something different about the technique used on them compared to cdj100 or its just the same Pause/Cue, and my next question, Is the slider holds the same value for pitch on BPM.

I think I saw a bpm meter on them, do they show the correct BPM.

stay out from the cheap cdjs and equipment because today I tried some us blaster dj pack with two cdjs and one mixer and it was horrible!! the cue point goes 1 second before the point where you set it! and the jog wheel was........ cannot find the proper word for it.... pioneer is a standard and like Sonikyronic said Numark are good. Dunno about vestax though.

Hi Enertopia, the 1000s are very precise and stable. I find that it's much easier to mix on them. The technique is the same, but mixing feels a little bit different than with the 100s, but better. The slider works like on the 100s, but i wouldn't trust the bpm-counter, i think it's better if you do it by ear, and/or by knowing the BPMs of the tracks you're playing

Hi!

To Ellinin: Try to get a pair of pioneer CDJ 100. They are good quality standard CDJs, on most parties/clubs pioneer equipment is used (though nowadays mostly CDJ1000). But if you know to mix on CDJ100 it's easy to control the other pioneers (and also all the other players ) Besides, mixing with CDJ100s makes a lot of fun.
I own a CDJ100 and CDJ800 and think the 100 is better. First it costs half the price, I never need the vinyl/reverse function when mixing psy (sometimes the loop), the 100 has builtin effects, the 800 not, okay, the 800 jogwheel is very nice, the bpm counter helps... but I'd go for the 100!

Of course, if you have plenty of money go for a pair of CDJ1000: Effects, Waveform is displayed, all the pros of the 100 and 800 combined

For mixer: Well, again, Pioneer mixers with built in effects are again standard in most parties/clubs but again very expensive. I use the Behringer VMX 200 and it does a very good job/low price for me. But, of course, I'd like to have a DJM 800 as well or maybe a xone92

Advice: Don't buy the CDJ800, not worth the money

to Enertopia: the bpm counter in my CDJ800 works very precisely! Cue/play combination like in all the pioneer products...

Greets, lunartune
