Don't use stand alone sequencer to sequence trance. No way.
You need to connect the synth to a computer with MIDI and use a computer sequencer like Cubase or Logic.
About the prices, you won't find any good one new below 3500. I suggest that you look for a used synth. Don't be afraid of used stuff, I have my CS1x used for over a year now and it works perfect. About synths to buy, here are the good options:

Yamaha CS6x (we're talking used, so it should be under 3500). NOT the CS2x.
A Nord maybe, Nord Lead or Nord Modular.
I also saw a Korg Triton for 3500 somewhere, that's a very good deal.
If you can find an Access Virus, Waldorf XT or Waldorf Q below 3500 then it's great too.

About the analog/digital: A digital synth is a synth that plays samples and modifies them with effects filters are stuff. For example - Yamaha CS6x, Korg Triton. An analog synth (virtual analog to be more accurate, they don't make real analog anymore and it's a good thing they don't) is a synth that generates the sound waveform realtime - usually much more flexible than a digital, but much harder to learn. Examples - Access, Waldorf, Nord.

Howdy
I just want to correct one thing Mike said about real analogue synthes, there are still 2 analogue synthes being made, and one of them is to me the best piece of hardware any producer can get in his studio,im talking about the fabulous ALESIS ANDROMEDA a real analogue 16 voices synthe
with a huge filter section that influences even more the SUPER POWER from the analogue sounds on it!!
If you have some local dealer that sells ALESIS go there just to listen to this baby...
I saw one in a friends studio in Lisbon and i cant explain to you guys...
This and Old JOMOX SUNSYNHT also is analogue 8 voices ,handmade Synth!!!

These two cost a fortune but if you guys can take a look at andromeda ALESIS.

Quest for production!!!

P.S.
YAT nobody mention the synth i have in my studio
and this baby is also wonderfull and never let me down,NOVATION SUPERNOVA, killer SYNTH...

A Korg tiriton cost $2500 in the U.S. , so its impossible to find it for 3500 shekeles in Israel.

I would rcommend the Korg MS2000, its a very good analog synth, and not very expensive($800-$900).

Bilbo...
Pulsar is a great thing that can give you lots of studio's env... and I think it gives wonderful things but you always need more things cuz thats the way it is ... and i think that a combination with pulsar and some good hw synths like Q and Nord is a great studio.....

Has alot of sounds (he said hhe counted 8000)
Its from yamaha blue box mid size...  i don't remember the DEGEM.. is it reasonable?
And there is one more thing i want from you...

Sorry for editing this message so much, i mean the yamaha RM1X this is a REMIX SEQUENCER it looks
hell good!
MIDI synthesizer tone generator, a professional sequencing program, and a real-time MIDI control surface. As a tone generator, the RM1x features a 16-part multi-timbral synthesizer.
