I used the search but only found some old topics about this issue. The mixers are propably quite different than three years ago.
Anyways I have an access virus synth and im recording it through a behringer ub1002 mixer. What a waste huh?
I was looking for a better mixer and heard that mackie could have a noisless and warm sound. What do you think about vlz pro series? (or more specificly 1202-VLZ Pro)
I need a cheap (200-400 euros), noisless and warm sounding mixer with just a few channels. Suggestions? |

Maybe someone could explain the cons and pros of these two series? Yamaha mg-series vs Mackie vlz pro-series. |

no dude, with all the respect, i think you dont know what your talking about,
the mixers eq has a fixed q and frequency
range, not much control there with anything... at least at the mg12 i have,
if you want proper results, use your cubase or what ever sequencer your using mixer...
much more flexibility...unless your having a school band preformance...then mix with it.... |

I agree with that, but the q was about buying a good mixer
i tall you why use mixer
some mixers has group ch and why do you need this ch ?
with the group ch you can record and control on your external devices
lats sey you have 3 keyborad...,how are you going to record them if you have 1 input in your sound card ?
you connect your external devices to the mixer and from the group out you connect to your sound card
and than you can control your external devices from the mixer
I'm working like that(more easy)

well...if all you have on your mixer is some crappy eq's, it dosnt help you to bus them
later, what you can do, is individualy record each keyboard via the mixer and then,
again, have the full controll of your sequencer, unless your preforming live... |

I want to record my synth through it. And why not mix other sounds (soft synths, samples) aswell, if it has a good eq and warm sound? (that's not so important) |

Yamaha sound is warm & sweet and you have a great eq band.....
High :10 kHz -+15 db
Mid :2.5 kHz -+15 db
Low :100Hz -+15 db
Quote from the link:
If you need a high-performance analog mixer for music production or sound reinforcement, the Yamaha MG Series is the first – and last – place you should look.
Good luck |
