whats up with this horrible white-peoples-music-with-indian-samples-totally-butchered-into-western-scales-and-4/4-rhythm?
take away the indian sample cd's!!!
there is more to music than simplistic triad chords (major or minor)
using a sample that has a pitch bend in it is not the same as a linear single note!
playing different notes with that sample results in casio-syndrome
is it me are we dumbing the entire worlds music down with our limited electronic music and simplistic casio concepts of what is a song?
auto-arranger accompaniament anyone????
please- respect the scales, rhthyms, and music of the world...

I think you are confusing just straight up world music for psychedelic downtempo, dub, etc that has a world music influence in it.

I still don`t understand, why people don`t just accept the opinion of Ocelot. The people wanting his opinion to be forbidden (or saying that this is a bullshit opinion and he should STFU) are doing the same, what they are complaining about (wanting to forbid something, saying that something is bullshit).
Ocelot`s opinion is just an opinion of dislikement. I guess, everybody dislikes somethings, and would like some things "to be forbidden", so chill out and relax.

I think it's good that people have opinions on here otherwise this forum just ends up being an endless list of just cd recomendations, as people who live and love the downtempo side of psychedelic music I think we have issues with the music around us. I don't totally agree with ocelot I like a bit of the sound of culture clash with the indian sounds colliding with a bit of sci fi soundtrack, by casio I'm guessing you mean that it's all becoming like a pre set tune rather than meaning that the quality of the keyboard sounds aren't so good. But this style of music has been knocking about for some time now it's hard to keep things sounding fresh without it becoming a totally different music genre. |

I see absolutely nothing wrong with that, I've gotten some great recommendations because of this little forum, as it seems to be the gathering place for this style of music.
Opinions are just that Opinions, they are like assholes everyone has one and they all stink. It's fine to share your shit with the world, but not if you pass it off as a factual standpoint.
If he feels that world music is being watered down by psy, that is fine. Conversely someone like myself doesn't like too much world music influence in their psy music.
