It's obvious that that is simply a MIDI controller hooked up to a PC running the VSTs "Virus Control" (connected to a TI Snow, NOT a TI, as evidenced by your version of Virus Control running only 4 MIDI channels, and the Automap software. If what you are claiming is true, the controller would have no need of Automap or VC to control the instrument(s).) and the Nord Modular controller software. You have pictures shown of the controller set to parameters within the Virus Control software which is easily duplicated by anyone using the SL MkII and a Virus TI (such as me, for example).
There is no evidence whatsoever that the hardware of these two synths are "built in" to the controller.
The strongest evidence for what I am saying is in your own pictures... there are NO audio out jacks located on the back of your controller, and NO audio cables connected to the controller. (The Nord Modular G1 NEEDS 1/8" audio outs in order to output sound.)
You're a scammer, and since you decided to message me privately and also in this forum to call me a douche, I'm reporting this thread, and you, for removal.

hi everybody,
In a nutshell, the combo is comprised of the following 3 main parts :
1 Novation 25 key SL mkII
1 Clavia Nord Micro Modular
1 Access Virus TI Snow
All parts have been soldered and mounted together inside the novation shell:
the micro modular and the TI snow receive power from the fw800 bus.
(you no longer have to plug them into the wall!)
the [audio out] of the micro modular is hardwired to the [audio in] of the TI snow. I also left the four micro modular 1/4" jacks accesable so you can plug input the mm voncoder or output the raw mm signal.
the midi ports of the micro modular are hardwired to the midi ports of the novation.
All original Virus TI Snow and Nord Modular jacks are accessible from the back of the synth (as seen in photo 6)
also as you can see from the photo 1 , the main virus volume knob is routed to the upper right hand corner.
I also swapped out blue for red on the novation scribble strip.
so in total the synth requires 3 cords/ports to operate:
1 FW800 cable for power
1 USB port for novation SL/mkII and micro modular
1 USB port for the Virus TI Snow
Also included are original cases and parts for the TI Snow and Nord Micro. (photo 10) |

Whether or not this is a scam aside:
Virus TI Snow (new) $1250
Novation SLMk II (new) $400
Nord Modular G1 keyboard version (used on ebay) $850
$2500 total
Your item: $2600
Now here are my questions:
Why would anyone pay more for your box than for mainly new gear that comes with repair warranties and full customer support?
Why would anyone pay that much for gear which seems to have some of its main functions seemingly taken away, which forces them into certain setup configurations? (referring to the TI Snow's Atomizer, Audio Input, Vocoder, Sidechain, etc. functions due to the inputs being hardwired into another device?
I'm glad people like you are doing stuff like this with hardware, but what you're offering seems like a huge rip-off no matter how you cut it.

first off, I really don't appreciate you accusing me of being a scammer. Id appreciate if you remove those remarks you made on this thread as you're attempt at getting me banned from this board is making you look more foolish by the second. enough already with this nonsense...
---
seriously there was a lot of work involved in this project, for instance, reverse engineering the virus to work without the daughter board, fabricating transformer boards for the bus power, a lot of soldering and desoldering of components, rerouting of the main volume knob, mounting issues, etc.. . Its not as easy as just slapping the parts in a box and calling it a day. There were a lot of tricky design decisions made, and the risk of ruining all the parts involved.
so to answer your question, the auction is set up for "best offer" which means you can send me a lower offer for my consideration. but at $2599, I think is very fair considering the work involved, the cost of the parts, the design, and the risks taken.
but in the end the value of this piece is really different for everybody.. If you are an international traveling musician who uses the sound of these two wicked synth's a lot, $2k - $2600 really not a bad price at all.
the original gear alone is heavy, cumbersome, and requrires a ton of cables not to mention wall power and a 2x2 midi interface just to get working. My solution requires 2 usb cables and a fw cable.
BTW, The 1/4" Atomizer and Audio Input jacks are still intact and accessable from the back so this functionality has not been taken away as you claim. the Nord Modular inputs are intact and accesable as well for its vocoder and processing cababilities.

Well, especially if you're in it to sell then you should probably present some more convincing information about it, because going off of your initial pitch it seems like a bogus hackjob to anyone who knows anything about synths (unless of course you're marketing towards a naive n00b with money to spend).
I mean really, Access Music itself releases loads of material in their sales pitches going over how the technology works rather than just snapping a few pix of a screen anyone with that MIDI controller could duplicate in 5 minutes.
Besides, if you have the know-how to build something like this successfully, why aren't you just building/selling your own synths from scratch? I'd honestly be curious to see what you could come up with.
