Yup, it got cancelled, a festival that charges $500+ per person does not even have a contingency plan for rain... Ridiculous...           Upavas - Here And Now (Sangoma Rec.) new EP out Oct.29th, get it here:

I think the idea that you could have a contingency plan for a 50,000 person festival is pretty ridiculous mate...

What would you suggest exactly?

How about an alternate site for starters if you can't cope with a little rain... I have been on lots of rainy festivals, hell I live in British Columbia... and even on the Voov rain (sometimes superheavy) was never a problem...

More recently, the event, where money is supposedly not allowed, has lured Silicon Valley’s super-rich, many of whom treat the event as a mixer to network with other wealthy techies.

BM is different because the ground is part of a nature reserve and they have to make nothing happens to it. Driving around in cars will ruin the site forever.. And setting up a back up space is impossible. Besides it has never happened in 25 years. It is a desert...           soundcloud.com/supergroover

But the site is part of the festival...and an alternative location would probably have to be a long way away from the original. I've never heard of a festival having an alternative location, it must be a logistical impossibility..

Sometimes theres nothing you can do about the weather, I remember about 10 years ago the Lovefield festival in Germany got rained out, and I was superexcited to go because Cosma would play there. Then the festival got postponed a few weeks and I couldnt go. And then Cosma died, and I never got to see him play live           Check out my album: http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/gay-satanic-hippie-tiefenrausch
