yea, theyre pretty "go big or go home" kind of people.... the dome's known as the "pyrosphere", they're also the home of the "tesla dome", also known as the Galaxotron, which is a giant bolt throwing AC transformer that they spend a lot of time trying to fine tune to refine power output (recreating the free energy transmission experiment, hopefully, someday).....really cool guys, but even their camp is stale as shit in the audio realm, sadly
Chris Nowak and co. are good people though, and some of them LOVE psy...they brought half the lights and lasers from this years nexus to the synergy festival here in missoula just to mess around.....pretty EPIC light/lazer show
and because they're a "sound camp", they receive NO kick backs from larry and co, which means to camp with them, they have to charge an extra 200 dollars, but unlike the burning man structure in general, all of that goes STRAIGHT back into their production, and they still lose lots of money of year

^^^^wow, dude. I like to talk shit aboot burning man as much as the next guy but I think you're taking it a bit far with the "i'd nuke the west coast" thing.
no one's going to listen to you if you have such a hostile, extremist rhetoric. chill out a bit and don't take it so seriously....that way when people start giving you the whole burning man cult spiel they will notice that you are not into it and will approach YOU as to why you're against going.
I know, i know, burners can be quite annoying and pushy, but there's no need to stoop to their level

Nah, you wouldn’t. 
Your posts are usually far too reasonable to suggest that you’d advocate such a waste of resources. It doesn’t make much sense financially. 
An interesting thought, though…
I wonder what a West Coast dictator would do. Probably, expand the Canyons to the whole middle third of the continent, so that those environmentally unaware East people could not migrate. Or maybe just convert the whole New England to a national preserve for the spotted owl.
Except there may be no West Coast dictator after all: the East seems to be a much better breeding ground for them.
Back on-topic: how hard is it to break into the Burning Man as a performer/DJ?
If it’s not very hard, wouldn’t it be easier to just sign up instead of complaining about the lack of psy there?

I went to movement 2009 and 2010 -- not derrick may's festival, though... I think he only led the event organization for 2 of the 11 events -- paxahau has been in charge the past 3 or 4 years.
no psytrance there. lots of good music though!

Yes, this is the one I meant. 
Didn't know Derrick May dropped out of it.
So, do you think they would be open to introducing psy trance at some point? Afterall, it is a direct descendant of techno. |

may is still a park of it in some sense, but paxahau is the organizer.
you could argue just about anything is a direct descendant of techno
over-the-top stuff I think you will NEVER see booked at movement/DEMF:
psytrance
happy hardcore / NRG / hard house
epic trance
breakcore
etc...
you can catch some of this stuff at afterparties, though
