if u ve seen a theremin live-act, u know what i mean: it look so mysterious...
moving your hands over antennas and doing ( i.e.acid-) noise...
about the money:
if you ve got the ability to do the print by your own ( otherwise approx + 50 $ ) and if it musn t be the ultra-space lookin theremin
(...acrylic glass, "special"-antennas... mine is from wood and antennas from rc-cars),
the 100 bucks are ok.
there are some ic's which are around 20 or so, and the rest is cheap...
and i think there are also selfmade kit s around for 150...
...so u can do the same as with software, ...waste your time ;-)

It's really really hard to play the theremin though! Even if you manage to build it, it will take years to master it....
Well, if you don't put your soul in to your music, you might aswell keep to the "dead" softwares, but if you want to personalize it, build your own HW! =)

This friday i was at "Messer Chups" (SPB, Russia)
live show that took place at "Dinamo-Dvash" club ,
and the most interesting part of the show was the
Thermin live performance by the famous "Lydia Kavina"
she actually playing Thermin from early age 9, and did
more than 500 live shows with this instrument all over
the world . It's defenetly has nothing to do with trance,
but it's something that must to be heard to realize how
psychodelic this instrument actually is. |

i have seen this live act on TV with this Lidya Kavina.... well i was impressed , and even thought it was a forgery (my conspiracy mind  )
this is a great tool, but i think in live trance act it cannot be used, since it is very sensitive to external interruptions ( feedback noise from the synths, the amps and other people around...i hope i am wrong, but all the performances i have seen were in a silent situation - no other instruments were involved.
anyway, i will refer to the circuit link soon  .

---> the ppl doesn t matter ( since they haven t eat too much vegetables cause of all the heavy metals in it...).
but the other stuff IS partially a problem. think it depends lot of the used antennas.
and about the skill:
yes, it s hard to play, i m faaaaar away rom live-act level, but it s still very fun.
and bout psy-noises:
some years ago acid-noise used to be also psy-noise...
----> is there any -mpeg of this lydia kavina ?
