Yeah, everybody has to make a living and if you can make a living from making trance music, then that is perfectly ok. Making trance music is your 'real job' then.
But what ever job you have, you should only do what you can stand up for. A butcher has to stand for what he is doing, when critized by a vegetarian and when Infected have themselves presented on a flyer like this, then they have to stand for it too.
And I think the reaction of some people (sell-out, disgusting...) is not surprising at all, because what they see doesn't fit their picture of IM.
How do you think people would react to a flyer for a 'legalize drugs' parade, with Britney posing in the center smoking a fat joint? (sure some of you would think it's funny, but...you know what I mean)

That it is not good that Britney is there? Then u don't want to legalize drugs?
It would be very popular and this is good for legalizing.
I would like to be marihuana and hash would be legal in germany, i think it is only possiblewith a big popularity, so Britney come and let take photo from you and a big jonny

I really didn't think I would have to explain this.....
I mean of course, that most of the Britney fans probably wouldn't like it, because it doesn't fit the picture they got of her.
They would be upset and saying things like "that's disgusting" and "how can she be smoking a joint".
I am not judgeing anybody, or anything here and I am not discussing legalization.
I am just describing a common phenomenon how people react, when they see something that doesn't fit their picture. |

I don't think that the problem is Psytrance or Infected Mushroom going overground.
But I think it's a great different if you play at the Roskilde Festival or for MTV, I consider this more satisfying for an artist to play there instead of playing for an MTV party.
Furthermore i think that most psy people believe in ideals like love, peace and happiness and for me this doesn't fit with MTV or boygroups.
But that's maybe the price you have to pay if you go overground...
No problem for me if IM choose this way (didn't like Converting Vegetarians anyway), I wish them all the best for the future  |

i think most of the people here if they have this oportunity would do the same
who will leave so much money just to stay underground?????
artists wants exposure its a nessesity so they continue
also they ivolve and mature and maybe look farther in the future for how long you stay underground ???
iff your music is slowly axepted in a bigger audience you dont live the opportunity so easy
let them do what they like and feal if you dont feal that what they do is right dont listen to theyr music anymore
you can stay underground and feal nice and unique
they deside to do that respect it and iff you like they music you will follow them whatever they do and go

Don't you understand? It's not a Rockslide artist - it's a teen pop bands. I have nothing against IM acts with rock bands, their work with Berry Sakharov it's something, but... This is really weird - IM and all the teen-bands such as Subliminal... No-no-no, it's abnormal, it's weird, weird, weird...
And of course big respect to Izen (he is a real genius), and Duvdev (pure experimentator of Israeli Psytrance) for releasing such a brilliant masterpieces like Gathering CD, for Return of the Shadows, Where is S, Release Me etc... Peace!

that's imo a very dangerous attitude...
I definetly won't follow anybody in "whatever they do" or whereever they "go", rather use my own brain, no matter how much I like the music somebody is doing. |

Teens has the right to enjoy Infected too. I am a teen (19 now) and I was a teen (14~) when I first started to listen to trance, including Infected Mushroom.

IM have turned commercial years ago, as has the whole scene (the truth hurts, I know). They are trying to make a living from their music, which is something that is not that easy.
IM are supposed to release their new CD next week, AFAIK (maybe even on the same date this party is on) and performing in big parties is a sure way to get more CD sales --> pay the rent at the end of the month, get food, buy more studio equip, whatever they want to do with their $$.
I am sure that there are a lot of users in this forum who would have never heard of trance music had it not been for Infected Mushroom, Astral Projection, Hallucinogen, Shpongle, GMS, Skazi, Astrix.....
Lots of respect to IM for the music they gave us in the past. Hopes for some more good music from them. Good luck with the new album.
