humm...i really don´t know if that info still exists.
but for example if you make"view posts by this user" you can acess the posts you have made
sometimes when i am bored and i have done moderating in the forum, i check older posts i have made.

I'm pretty sure we still have the top 10 in the database, we're just not allowed to access it. Try searching for "Surrender's Licence To Kill Top 10"

This has been discussed many times, and has ups and downs. If we open it again, it will very soon become one of the most accessed forums and possibly attract a lot of new users, including many uncivilized ones (with all due respect). Then, these new users will start to raise hell in many sections, specially those well known problematic sections. Moderating all of this is very demanding.

On the other hand, I like to read Top 10s from artists and labels, specially if they feature released stuff. So yes, I would like to have the Top 10 back.

However, I suggest to all of you to think of the Top 10 as that old girlfriend of yours: you really liked having her, but the trouble she caused was not worth it.

I wrote about this subject on my blog recently:
http://www.ektoplazm.com/journal/reconsidering-top-tens/

Top tens still serve a purpose. I think the problem, particularly here on Isratrance, was simply that there was no barrier to entry. Perhaps some combination of automatic restrictions can even things out; make it so that users need to have an account for a particular number of months, a post count minimum, special status, or some combination thereof. On the other hand, this is a lot of extra hassle for Isratrance admins, and perhaps, as you say full_on, not worth it in the end

the myth Ex... dont you have that one that you always think it could be better to stick together

maybe this why trance scene become so boring no more direnctions from the masters.. no one can really listen to all realeses so this was kind of the best way to filter.. now we have to listen to 3 cds a day of utter crap and fast enough evryone go to techno and folowing top sales 10's.           www.sattelbattle.com

yes i really think isratrance has that much big influence on trance scene
it might not the thing that create it or kill it , but sure has its impact. and i think re-concider the mess it create is worth if it actualy raise the level of the music (which i think it will)           www.sattelbattle.com

I really love top tens, when they have a meaning- for example when people write a few words about the tracks.

The problem is that people don't want to make the effort. How many people post links to artists / shops in their mixes tracklists? You use someone's music, many times not paying for it, and not willing to make the minimum effort to link to it.

And as it was mentioned already, many people post top tens for reasons such as showing how cool they are, or trying to trade tracks, or pushing their own music etc.

We can think of a series of rules that can try and make it more meaningful, but in the end it will always require a lot of moderating time, and that's something we don't have so much of.

yeah i thought real strict guidelines can solve most of it (how about only ppl that ASKED to make tops can post? by the team or users demand?)          www.sattelbattle.com
