Just curious what u guys think abut breaks that instead of throw you up just throw u down.
This happens to me alot nowadays, so many times that if the guy on the decks takes me down all time it the beginning of the set i just loose interest
dont wanna bash on anybody but there's 2 good examples on this track:
From 2.57 -3.57 and at 6.25ish, its maybe me but it seems we are starting again

I guess it is a matter of inspiration .. and how the producer sees the track.

I like 5:00 to 6:25. kinda floating trippy feel with sweet vocals.. it's the track climax I think.
maybe you would go for another one.. something even more intense, instead of quiet down right away. 10min instead of 8min

when i got to know psytrance a while back it would have tracks that the break would put me so UP that it would be the same as bein high from MD .... but without drugs.I can give u a few exemples.. tracks like NONSTOP from cosma, few tracks from astrix found in some VAs before the cd EYE TO EYE but i cant remember the name from those . the master cheeses tracks from the album 1200 mics - self titled, or lets say new kind of world from MFG ....... insane breaks...

then i started to get sick of full on and progressive coz of the stupid breaks and the stupid melodic pads like from the hollywood drama movies in a happy moment.

and even if i listen to those old tracks that i used to love the break will sound so stupid.....

but then one day at some festival i learnt that it was all bout the mood... coz i got me enjoyin full on and breaks and the melodic pads and etc even bein into the preference of the dark and oocult sounds...

and it s still like that , in my house i cant stand full on and progressive tho in the festival i can easily open my self to it..

some people have fix moods , those who will die for the dark sounds and say the others sounds are shit till the day they die..and some others will say that the breaks and the melodic pads are a must coz it helps to add emotion or whatever reason they have to like it....

so for me nowadays when im in the dancefloor listening to something im not havin fun i think that it s because im not in the mood not that i dont like it .....

probably more than 10 in each full on tracks released these days ,living room psytrance we call it with friends cool to listen at home in your sofa but good luck to get in deep trance in a partie without beeing totally fucked up on drugs..
maybe it s just us dunno but we find it not intelligent at all.. in the old day just smoking few joints we were flying to a other planet with the good sound, maybe even clean it was possible but that i have no idea ..
there is no need to make breaks every few bars to make great tricks and at the same time getting a more intelligent flow in the tracks. (i do love breaks ,specailly the big ones before the end of a track but not the non sense of today full on that break at random time for no reason)

So for you guys, real trance should be a straight 7 minute track of continuous beat and sequences?

No time for a little stretching, contrast and / or tension before dropping the force of trance again?

no but imo breaking 4 bars for nothing behind just cut the leggs, tracks need a intelligent flow to be effective.with random breaks for nothing i find it hard to get in a state where the music your body and mind make just one .
it s always up and down and not a straight line that bring you to the sky if you see what i mean.

you are talking about darkpsy, right?
full on with too much breaks and rolls it's also annoying.

Ohh.. i understand. Its because the artist/produer is using fades in his breaks. The placement of the break itself is "perfect" but the way the breaks sounds is usually disturbing for many, because that little millisecond you feel like theres just this new track coming in or something entirely new going on after the break, and when it just slams back to the same it feels like the break was completely useless to me. fast fadeouts in general on the master volume sound horrible to me, if one feel like using fadebreaks keep something rolling over it still, like the kicks, or maybe a lead would be preferable. And thats also my opinion.

Peace~

Dont get me wrong, i like the track, and it has it's place on an hour or hour and a half set, and i understand that mood has a big place, but when we are at a partie sometimes the guy on the decks can really make a difference in getting u in a good mood (this is different for every person, its very subjective off course) but nowadays i feel it lacks drive, i dont have that full-on(not gender )feel that can happen even at 130BPM, it seems some don't know where to go and keep falling on the same pattern.
I can really enjoy any psy gender as long as it gets me happy and fast forward

This is a pretty good explanation of what i'm saying, its the way u come out of the break and how the tension was built, some of my greatest experiences happen when after a very nice build up , when i'ts in place(if u know what i mean ) and i imagine it can't get any better than this the guy drops of a single kick bass that throws u around and thinking "here we go again" with a smile on you face

Though they are meant for demo'ing the track online, blanks in the middle of tunes, put me off listening to them any more, because of the lack of flow.
Even found my self requesting a feature in FL for exporting demo's.           www.wizanda.com www.soundcloud.com/wizanda
