about the chezch repulic .. i still think u have been a bit lucky with this game.... as the chzech team only had 2 days of non play while the greek team had 4 days of non play ... and this may be the reason why nedved was injured in the very beginning of the game
but that is the story, and how it's written , u still deserved that victory  even if i think u had just a little bit of luck ( the greeks gods were with u, what can we do ?? lol) |

Look guys leets see if we understand eachother
You Won no doubts you where the best team with the worst football but your coach hv trained this tactic for 3 years and the Portuguese coach only discovered the real team after he lost the first match.
Portugal is not a bunch of loosers and he´s not a bad team or worst then the greeks but they hv losted
Half of the Portuguese team are EUROPEAN CLUB CHAMPIONS (FC PORTO) with around 70 games this season on their legs including the european championship ones and preparation matches.
The team was tired its normal, after the lost in the first match (lots of confidence big mistake) they hv added to make an extra effort to get qualification and then the match with ENGLAND (That is FOOTBALL) hv ruined our physical condition.In the match against Holland, portuguese team was very tired already.
This players are champions with much more matches on their legs than the greek ones.
French team was tired also as Spanish one and against Czhecs you had lucky
You treined well this type of football during 3 years and that was the secret to won this championship.
Congratulations but Portugal hv better future and iam happy to see that he hv a good future and hv better football than the Greek one but hv lost. The best team dont win always but the best teams where very tired this championship i tink is time to change the schedules of the national championships coz the seasons are very long and teams that play offensive football dont know other type of football like England, France, Czhech or Portugal dont hv to many chances to beat this organized and bunkered teams coz they hv to make all the efforts of the match beside of the long seasons that their players hv.
Greek ppl you won ok you are euforic ok you hv reasons to, but dont tink you hv a good football, coz winning is superb but winning with real football is other tink.
Now Greece is not anymore a poor team so i want to see in the future this team make the same thing, iam almost sure that no coz this ugly football dont hv future and will not gona surprise again |

We had 2 more days of rest against the Chezch Republic and Portugal had 1 more day of rest in the final game.
Thats something that has to do with the organisation of the game 
P.S Chezch Republic on the third game of the group stage rested all of its basic players just for your info so Nedved had more time to rest there

detox i didn't mentionned portugal as 1 day is not a big big difference, it was more obvious on the semi finals against the chzech
and about the third game that's right , they had some rest , but they deserved it, they won all their games !!!!
anyway, greek team was the more "collective" if i can say so, i think the team that believed the most in their football and their victory, so it's a well deserved victory of a whole team
and for the portugueses fans, don't be too sad, your team has great days to come and i m sure we ll seriously have to count with portugual for the next world cup as this team play an amazing football |

Leuname in every big tournament the players of 'big' teams are tired because of the too many games through the year BUT i want to tell you also that many Greek players play in big european championships like England,Italy,Spain,Portugal and Germany where the season is very tough and also all of the players of the three major Greek teams (Panathinaikos,Olympiakos and Aek) had also a tough year in their clubs on both domestic and european competitions.
Each player of both Portugal and Greece had a difficult season and i know that cause i am a big football lover and i can tell you that Charisteas had a very tough year in Germany winning the Bundesliga with Werder Wremen while Rui Costa was resting at AC Milan since he wasnt playing any games at all.Ofcourse i can also tell you that Figo and Deco played much more games than our goalkeeper Nikopolidis who didnt play many games on his Panathinaikos team for various reasons well known in Greece.
Every player had his year and its only the best that win in the end

Side A trust me one more day rest before the final is much more important than two days rest before the semi final
As the tournament advances the games become even harder and tiring for the players
Oh and something else,the Portugese team stayed throughout the whole tournament in Lisbon while the Greek team was travelling and changing hotels all the time just for your info
Small details but crucial for sure

Yes Detox you are right but the club seasons hv lots of influence
Uefa must re-schedule some country seasons.
Almost everybody was making already the final preparation for this championship and a French team (Monaco) and portuguese (Porto) where playing the final of champions league. Its to many matches on the legs. I saw France tired i saw portugal tired especially after the match against england. The Porto Players where exausted this season and half of the portuguese team is from this club.
if you join all this with the fact that this teams only play to attack dont defend, physically is very hard to win against a team very well prepared, that defend and let the others run and run, with a very well prepared tactic all over 3 years like the greek one.
Congratz to the greek preparation you done it superbly well exploring all the weekeness of the big teams and their players. |

Yeap scouting your opponent is very crucial and Rehagel is the best on this one.
By the way this Scholari guy is not a good coach at all and i cant understand why you keep him.
I mean Figo was a disaster in the first three games and he kept using him instead of other better players just because he is Figo!
Not to mention he didnt took Vitor Baia as a goalkeeper in the tournament....

But now you are a big team also so lets see how you can deal with it coz everybody now will want to beat the european champions heheheh
France hv suffered that in the last major tournaments like world cup 2002 and euro 2004
Greece is no longer a poor team with poor players, they are champions and everybody will want to beat the champions

Greece is a very good team but is not on the level of France,England,Italy or Nederlands,not yet at least

Btw as nothing to do with the topic but Giovanni Trapatonni (ex-italy coach) will be the next coach of Portuguese team Benfica
If Trapatonni win the Portuguese league next season i will come here and apologize to everybody and i will surrender myself to the catennacio and agree that a great team starts on a solid defense

ehe heheheh its funny to see how we look like some fut experts... people im portuguese and just have to say one thing.. greek win doing the futbal that they were trained to do... portugal loose playing the futbal that they were trained to do... no big deal.. one had to win.. portugal just deserv it better because of the organization and the big games that we present to futbal lovers.. the rest its greek party time.

Hey guys. Things seem to be getting a little hot in here. The simple truth is that Greece won the tournament because he wanted it more than the others did. Its defence was superb but then again Russia managed to score twice against it, in the space of 20 minutes. That said, i think if the other big teams were at their best they could have easily scored (not necessarily won) against Greece. BUT the big teams went there thinking that the goals would come by themselves which obviously was not the case. It takes a moment of genious from ppl like zidane, figo, rui costa et all to undo any defensive tactic in the world. They did not come up with any such moment and thus they went home empty-handed. So we won the thing and we are happy for it. Our punishment however is all that ball-busting exaggerations that we ve been witnessing since last night with politicians and TV stars parading their opportunism on our TV screens. |
