Artist : Bradler & Dualton
Title : “Definitely” EP
Label : Flow Vinyl
Format : Digital Mp3 & Wave
Release date : march 09

Tracklist :
1/ Definitely
2/ Red Asian Bag
3/ Red Asian Bag (Pig & Dan rmx)

1. Definitely
Behind these names is a trio of German producers from Duesseldorf and Cologne: Mathias Bradler – who leads a multiple life as a lawyer, head of his Restart label and as one half of the successful Electro House duo Mashtronic – teams up here with Patrick Keuthen and Rober Glaser. Independantly or as an ensemble, the threesome can boast signings with high-profile labels such as Bedrock, Blufin, Redlight District, Presslab and Elite, to name but a few.

This first track is based on a very percussive theme, rolling out drums and congas, interrupted only by crowd voices and a short keyboard riff in the break. However, the bouncy bass line does not really transmit that infectious groove that the hips are so fond of in a Tapia or Jakiro production, to name a few of my favourites of the moment. This track will smoothly fit into a Tech-House set, so smoothly that it just might go unnoticed.

2. Red asian bag (original mix)
The second track from the trio hinges on the same devices, but this time the melodic treatment is more complex thanks to the addition of tasty delays and more eerie tones, from lushious bell chimes to the eponymous vocal snippets stacked atop the clattering percussion work. This second instalment has more aural appeal, without being ground-breaking.

3. Red asian bag (Pig & Dan rmx)
From whichever angle you look at it, the famous Majorca-based duo Pig & Dan, comprising Igor Tchkotoua and Dan Duncan, has become a key figure in today’s electronic scene. If you take the Progressive scence, they’re there with Velkro or D-Nox & Beckers; check out Techno and they’re to be found with such big names as Tony Rohr or Oliver Klein; turn to House and they’re working with John Dahlback; go popular and they turn up again remixing Underworld. Which gives just a hint of the range of genres they can command as remixers or producers. Confirmed by their releases on top Techno imprints such as Cocoon.
This reworking is underpinned by a more cogent and potent bassline which invigorates the track, while massive staggering delay fx slam the bell chime theme across the stereo field. The break introduces a simple but nice keyboard interlude on top of snare rolls. Together with the backup of crunchy clap and click flourishes, a tougher and fuller sounding mix is created, reminiscent of one of their recent releases “Dream of bells.” It also comes with a much appreciated dance floor potential, not a habitual feature of their work.

Bottom line
This package has received massive support from the DJ elite. For me, the B side is the nugget, with the Pig & Dan being the standout piece. Definitely a shrewd signing. Grab your copy !
