this guy besides being an absolut looser,asshole,... is using other artists, insulting them and their work for self promotion since he is releasing his first album in a few weeks!!!
he doesn't respect the chillout scene because probabably he even doesn't like chillout...i sugest to boycote him from the scene and avoid to buy any release from him...he is no good!!!

what? boycott any artist who speaks his mind freely???? and that makes him an arsehole? because he doesnt share your taste in music?? interesting.
and more importantly how does his opinion make HIS music bad?? i ve been listening to his album in the last few days and would like to add that its a fantastic release, very original and quite far from "meanstream" chill out. you ll be the one missing out by not giving it a try.
and finally how can you in all seriousness start a pretty harsh topic and end it with "peace and love"?? kinda contradiction no??!!!

well i just dont think you can use the terms "peace and love" after proposing a boycott to someone...
about the main subject i dont know mauxuam personally so i could never say something about his person....i dont know his music but i will listen and if it's good, i will buy it... critics and criticizes we will always have.... some people like entheogenic some like lee perry and some people like spice girls (really? lol)...

fortunately for me i just take music at face value... either it speaks to me or it does not...
if your musical tastes are influenced by factors other than the music then so be it... that is your call.
boycotts are really just personal consumer choices; i like wine, the USA produces great wine, I choose not to buy it because I dislike the imperialist policies and their consequences for innocent people.
doesn't really change anything in the grand scheme of things
these days much of our identity as individuals is wrapped up in the consumer choices we make. sad i know...
so rui would prefer this to be a fluffier place...and feels that one way to express this is to suggest a boycott of Maux's album. it is a bit of a non sequitur and won't really change anything, but might give some personal satisfaction to a few
as gaspard pointed out, and very thankfully, music and opinion are separate qualities. we all have opinions. not all music is qualitatively the same...
make your choices any way you will...
i certainly don't require artists to "appear" nice n fluffy and say positive things all the time. i just want them to deliver quality work on time and get out there and play their music.
in this side of things, which is the important one IMO, Maux is one of the most professional and dedicated artists i have had the pleasure to work with.

maux is a rebel...and in this fragile chillout scene his remarks may come across as rude but actually he is taking the piss out of us and himself...I'm sure his first solo release gonna be a real trip...lets hope he doesnt get too rich and snort up all the profits... |
