yeah, but is good to save the midi score before doing that right? Since when you do that you convert the midi on the timeline to wav and will have no more midi score....am i right?

Also, can anyone explain me the possibilities, pro and cons of sampling the notes of a synth instead of just using it ?

maybe off topic - not sure .....
in cubase / nuendo 3 is there a pool of sorts, like the audio/video pool (Ctrl P) where the midi parts can be filed or managed?

Depends how well the synth works. If you have trouble getting the notes to have right attack, decay, and keep in synch with midi, but you really like the sound of the synth itself, then you can sample some notes and use in sampler or just as audio.
My Juno 106 is a bitch to keep in synch via midi. We also recorded two notes from MS20 and sequenced the audio files as a bassline.
Cons are you cannot tweak the sound after, if you must tweak, then you have to setup the sound again and record it again, etc.

thanks servellen, i m looking forward to learn more about this...
maybe u can sample note from several synths and create a nice beat.....but in the sampler you can modify the sounds?
but what you mean ``keep in synch with midi``, how can the synth not be in synch with midi?

try picking up Computer Music or Future Music magazines .. the Cds included have very good high quality samples (basses, leads, signature sounds / instrument samples) which you just have to load onto a decent sampler and boom - ur rocking it. Lots of good learning and info too. Also a special mention for SOund on SOund!

Analogue synths can go out of synch -if you play midi sequence over a beat or metronome, you can hear the synth phase in and out of synch with the beat, which can be quite groovy sometimes, but not if it goes out too much, then it just sounds sloppy.
Solution is to record the synth midi sequence to audio, then play the audio and cut out the parts that sound the way you want them to, and continue sequencing with those blocks, apply some compression and FX

Avoiding daisy chaining of MIDI equipment can help reduce timing issues. Some MIDI interfaces seem better than others.
With regards to the recorded audio; many DAWs will allow you edit the audio so that it will sync perfectly.
