hi guys, i really tried alot, but i have to spam >.< (found nothing helpfull in the search function or google)

finally i got my first real beginner soundcard (E-MU 1212m -180€)

so i couldnt wait for the main thing i bought this soundcard for... so called BOUNCING.
(didnt work with my onboard soundcard)

i mainly know what to do, here is a screenshot of the most settings.
http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc44/orgytime/buoncing.jpg

but WhyTF i got no peaks? nothing...

2 things im thinking of:

1) why i cant set the emu driver in my audio-line like i set it in the midi-line-In (is this needed?).

2) maybe it dont works because i have to set something at the soundcardoption... routing or something, im such a computeridiot...

PLEASE HELP ME! im really getting crazy errrr. dont tell that i cant bounce with this soundcard;;           www.soundcloud.com/orgytime

making music without bounciing is like making music with just one screen;;

Hummm.... I guess Cubase SX can´t record VST "on the fly". Is that what you want?

Cause bouncing is another thing. At Cubase, bounce is like "glueing" audio parts to one big file. At Logic, bounce is the same as "export to wav" from Cubase.           LOADING...

wow, 50ms latency from asio??? are you kiddin' me? too high... but anyway, if you need to make your vst instruments (midi) into audio clips - choose the track - solo it, then go to file menu - choose export audio mixdown, make sure you have ticked export to pool and audio track, that's it.           Monitoring devices, know where you go

yeah, i meant what you said, but i also want my midi parts transform to audio.

it doesnt matter if its midi or audio, it also can be both. i want that what im hearing, as one audiofile.
for example bassline+kick+HH at the same time, as one audiopart.
i know that this works, beacause it worked on my old pc, and my friend does this also with his pc.
yeah, its an export "audio mixdown" in the fast way, just with the record button.

so, this bouncing thing is a bit confusing to me, but you know what i mean, and you also can see in the picture what i was doing,
i "soloed" the needed vst-track and selected the audiotrack what should record it.

i really get pissed off with this cubasedickshit, am i to stupid damn,
...then i missunderstand the whole fuck because my musical technical language (english) sucks more than my crapy pc knowledge.
i really try not stressing me and do it slow, but there is a point when its enough.

sorry for disturbing you guys with my stupid noobposts, im feeling really bad for this and it makes me sad...
but what can i do, I USE GOOGLE AND SEARCHFUNCTIONS errrr, i just want to make music.

sorry

Ok, to get the mutiple tracks mixed in one audio file just solo the ones you need - they will sound together while keeping the ones you don't want- muted. Then do the same - file - export audio mixdown (if you need them inside your cpr project then tick the pool and audio track, if not - untick them) For record, i never actually use it, cause it's easier to record automations or your live playing (maybe choose "all inputs" in midi track's input) but to actually mixdown the track as a whole - you gotta use offline mixdown renderer. You can assing a shortcut for it, so whenever you need it you just press the combination (i have mine on Ctrl+M)           Monitoring devices, know where you go

it must be something on the Emu routing in the PatchMix mixer, check your inputs/outputs and the manual around page 50 for this, as i understood you have no audio, that must be due to the soundcard, also im seeing in the pic you put, in the VST Instruments section-Gerate-Port youve checked 1Asio+2Asio, it seems right (i dont know how Emu ports are working, either their names, thats why) but check the routing in there too, does it have any Analog input or something like that to choose?
Also do you have set the ports for Ausgang too? that must be 1AsioOut+2AsioOut, the opposite of inputs
i cant see any reason Cubase dont work, it has to be the interface

of course it can(if you have digital Inputs/Outputs on your card), check it the tips thread my post about SPD/IF routing within Cubase or Nuendo, im working this way and it rocks,, just solo your track , enable record on another Audio track thats routed properly and you record on the fly whatever it plays above

thanks man, ill check that after work and will post it then.
yeah, 1AsioOut + 2AsioOut seems to be right...

the one strange thing i dont understant is, when i play a song with winamp, i can see in the PatchMix mixer at the [stereo1]-track (imput wave 1/2) a incoming signal + i see the volume rising at the main mix volume... thats ok BUT,
when im playing something with cubase, i ONLY see a signal at the main mix volume om the PatchMix mixer.

i dont know if this is correct, but i think if i want to record something, the soundcard also should distplay the signal in a imput-track, not only in the master chanel...

well, ill be smarter when i followed your advices!
so much thanks until then!

cheers

i read in the manual that as you mentioned, the Wave 1+2 channels are for Windows audio applications etc, and the Asio for host sequencers ,
so you dont see any signal on your Asio tracks 1+2 on the Emu, is that right??
is there also a main mix track that you see on Emu or are you talking about Cubase main mix??
could not understand that,, but im convinced thats something to do with the card , read the manual carefully

smarter by following my advices, i really dont think so ,, with all these damn machines and their manuals , well always have some headaches cheers

hi got a little bit motivation back now, but still the problem...

i set the PachMix-Mixer to default and now i got an signal in it, on the Asio-track and its Monitor-Mixer.

here a screenshot:
http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc44/orgytime/recording2.jpg
(you can enlarge the pic)

after 3 hours reading and trying i got nothing but a signal in the PatchMix-Mixer.

could you tell me what in/out i have to set at my audio-track (recording-track)?
i have both at [Asio Multimedia Stereo Driver In/out].

i dont know the problem, when there is a signal from cubase, why i get no signal in the audiotrack when it records?

thanks

im checking it and try to figure out

first in the Gerate Conf. uncheck the VST System Link (where the tick is) , unless you work with two computers you dont need this activated and disable the Asio from the scroll bars in&out

then in the mixer of Emu i see it says above Asio31/32 ?? shouldnt that be on 1+2?

i think youre confused in the mixer of Emu not in Cubase

which audio track you mean it records? have you tried to make internal routing to record it on the go and you get no signal? cause this is another type of routing things, i thought you were talking that bouncing was the problem, as Audio Mixdown

you confused me a little too

hi,

i want to record any tracks (midi & audio) directly in my new empty audio-track!
only by using the record-button and soloing the wanted tracks!

yeah, Asio 31/32 is default setting, i also can change it to Asio 1/2 but this makes no difference.

i dont want to rout every chanal into my audiotrack before record... if i would do this i also just simply could do a "Mixdown" , that needs to much effort

i´m also confused ^^

Hi orgytime,

I have a E-mu 1820 soundcard and you need to setup the routing for your inputs and outputs. I have uploaded the DAS Tutorial to my Fileden acct.

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/19/1190188/DAS_Tutorial_1.81_%28EN%29.pdf

Start from page 6 which shows you the setup for Cubase LE. Same setup for Sx3. If you have any further questions, PM me and if I can help, i`ll be glad to.
Regards Vic

PS Also dont forget to use the Templates that come with your E-mu card. They should be located in:
Program Files\Creative Professional\E-MU PatchMix DSP\VST\Recording Templates

If you dont have them I can always email them to you.
