When bouncing a sound or melody from midi to audio, at what level should i record??
I am thinking i should get the highest level without clipping but i am not sure.
Ideas, anyone?? |

The higher the level, the higher the actual bit depth of your sampled data. If you record with 24 Bit Audio Card but very weak signal the actual depth will be much less. So go wild on this one, nut not too wild. 0~3 dB is considered wise. Cheers.

the reason for that is the higher your signal is, less noise will get into the recordin. I record between 0db to -1db. |

Not correct. If you take signal with noise and amplify it, you'll add the same gain to the noise.
