hello fellas.
i dont know how but ive got the conexant integrated laptop souncard still running some programs, like media player and internet explorer. i of course also have my budget but loyal indigo dj pcmia card for use with asio (cubase, wavelab, ableton, etc). by doing this am i messing up my cpu config and performance. if so how can i fixx itt??? plzzzzzzzzzzz
i just have the onboard card running cause of the lousy mic input and the lousy built in speakers, so .....
thanxxxfor any inputttt!!!!

Hey man, it doesn't really matter / you can choose to use both cards without having any problems.
The programs u mentioned that use the onboard card are the windows intergrated ones - you can set their sound by the control panel->sounds and devices? or smthng where at the sound tab you can choose between the two sound cards.
If you want to completely disable your onboard one then right click @ my computer -> properties ->hardware ->device manager, find the connexant card
then right click and choose disable
cheers!
