one small monthly party called "psyforia" thrown by the sonic beating crew, as doku pointed out. and every now and then something random pops up, but nothing that big. the next psyforia is a week from today, and you should totally go man! my boy DJ Nutz is spinning, so its sure to be a full-on mind bending night. hope to see you there! |

yeah, i WISH i could get to nyc for astrix, but its just not possible. anyway, psyforia is a function hall in cambridge...its actually kind of hard to find, and i don't think there's a train stop anywhere around there. its on til 2am (boston is shitty like that) and the age is 21+. send me a pm if you need a ride or anything |

here's the full info for the party on March 25th...
.:::P:S:Y:F:O:R:I:A:::.
Boston's Monthly Psytrance Event
Friday March 25th, 2005 9pm-2am
Featuring:
:::Nutz::: (San Francisco/Boston)
Freshly relocated to Boston, Nutz dropped a demo on the crew and immediately had ears sprouting open and jaws hitting the floor. Nutz has blown up dancefloors all over the West Coast and tonight his assult on the East Coast begins! Armed, locked, and loaded with all the best full-on you wanna hear.
:::Bob Trahpek::: (SonicBeating/Changmian/Zia-Trance)
Tonight, Bob will show us one of his lesser-known sides, that of a smooth mixing and well-versed DJ. Attending Chicago-based parties as early as 1991; Bob took his audio cues legends like DAN EFFX. His technical skills and track selection behind the decks are as refined as his blacklight compositions!!
:::Dave Dittmer::: (SonicBeating/Changmian)
One of the better kept secrets around boston, Dave Dittmer may be the most technically perfect and astute DJ of the crew. Though his calm, collected, and personable demeanor may have you believing otherwise - don't be fooled! This guy gets in front of a dancefloor and can send the night in amultitude of positive directions!
Deco> Bob Trahpek & Psychedelic Friends Network

I might consider going to this. I will be in boston on the 25th. DOes anyone know whether or not the cab far from downtown boston to this venue is expensive or cheap? |

well, ideally what you would want to do is take the T (subway) to Harvard Square on the Red Line. From there, the venue is about a 15 minute walk, or probably about a $5 cab ride.
As for getting back downtown after the trains stop running, it should not cost you more than $10-$12 depending on where exactly you need to go.
PM me if you want more info. hope this helps

See you on the dancefloor!

This is merely a guess, since I ony know what I have in store for you....
The first set will probably be proggy psy. Those Sonic Beating folk like that stuff a lot.
I have no idea what Bob has in store, but I know what he likes, and he'll probably bring it up a notch.
I plan to start off with some older tracks that I've been wanting to hear on a big system for a while and havn't 'cuz they are older (hey, I'm the DJ, I'll play what I want!). I usually don't play very dark and scary, but I've got some crazy tracks I wanna drop, we'll see what happens. Eventually, I will pull from my stash of recently aquired unreleased stuff.
Overall, I'd say I'm a morning full-on style DJ, but I've had it described as "acid gabber" before (heheh).
Hope that's helpful... |
