After fallowing this line i have one big question is the boom crew doing a briliant thing or is it out of money... ?
the only way to make boom the magic festival that it has been i thinks is to NOT be a nother northen europe psy festival with all the "big namns" and do the opostit, geting smaller in the artist scen "but still give a magic music blend with a lot of talented label djīs and skip the monster atractions that make the fullmoon festival for x-ample. Back to the basic of psy party
a good wibe ,love, dance and good music.. and that should be the only motovation the psy comunity need, not a nother copy
..so in this way i think boom could stay unic and not tranceform in to guest
a nother festival..

sorry for the bad inglish

I think we can all pretty much agree that saying what you would want to see in the lineup isn't going to change anything now...
like my boss kobayagi said...if you're making a cheap lineup than make a cheap entrance...
I think boom has a reputation of being the biggest festival around and that certainly means that people expect a lot from it...of course the Boom crew can always say that they don't want to offer us a killer massive lineup but they should also lower the price then...no one said that each year the lineup has to be even bigger and bigger and more expensive...but the price also has to depend on it..
I know this will sound very subjective and maybe not "politicly correct" coming from someone like myself but just look at one thing from an objective point of view...the entrance price at boom is 100 euro...we've all seen the lineup and the program on the website...now just compare that to our festival (www.underwater-overground.com) that charges 35 euro at the entrance...and look at our lineup...I'm not going to say anything else...just check for yourself and compare...we're a very small scene, and we don't have some big reputation or list of acomplishments behind us...we also have a pretty good idea of what some things cost...and you can trust me when I say that if you see 3 names on the linep that are for instance from...South Africa, Australia and Mexico...that there is a pretty big chance that those artists are spending their entire summer in Europe touring through 2-3 festivals...so noone needs to pay their flight ticket back home..or it usually gets split up between organisers..
I am selling tickets for Boom in Croatia and I think that even someone in my position has the right to speak his own mind about the festival...I can't wait to come there with all my friends...it's just the thought of the entire psytrance population on the planet coming toghether in one place that makes me so excited about this festival...as I'm sure everyone else is...but my position doesn't stop me from giving out a dose of criticism...and everyone else should feel the same way regardless of weather you're working in the organisation, or just someone who is going to his first festival...if the main organiser can sit down, look at what he offered and say to himself that this maybe isn't worth 100 euro..then that would change things..we can talk here all we want but it won't do any good if someone who is making a festival is a money hungry person (not trying to offend anyone)
In my oppinion the worst thing that has been happening for the last couple of years is this blind trust that people have towards the organisers...because tickets go out to sale a lot sooner that the lineup gets posted...now for instance what would happen if someone who really loved progressive trance bought a ticket for say...samothraki...and then a month later he found out that the entire lineup for samothraki is only full on...it all comes down to taste which is why we either need diversity to please everyone...or we need festivals that concentrate on only one genre of this music, like say full moom...and the party people have to stop trusting organisers in this way and the lineup should always come before the ticket sales starts...at least the most part of it..
anyway I really don't want to offend anyone or promote our festival with bashing another..you can do that comparing thing with any other festival that will take place this summer..and I think you'll reach the same conclusion...the ticket price at the entrance is just too high...and I'm saying that with the best possible intentions and criticism because I would love to see better lineups, better vibes, more affordable food/groceries and the overall standard of festivals out there DJ Dovla | Interchill Records, Flow Records

i understand one thing...people who bought the super discount ticket, didnīt know the line up....itīs boring, and some of them didnīt like the artists were coming.....everyone have the right 2 expose their ideas....but not so often...itīs becoming boring....and 2 those people if the line is so damn important....and they donīt like, well, sell those tickets cause there are a lot of people who wouldnīt mind, buying them @ 70 euros....
donīt like,donīt go...simple as that....
or cause some people would like 2 see thix artist, or that artist...and since they donīt came...so the fest is not good...etc...etc...
the goodmood preferred sound is always been like thix....pending 2 the dark...so what people are complaining about?change goodmood tastes?and itīs naturaly they like 2 see the artists that have the type of sound they like....
and 2 OADE, i think u said very important things....

Uvego just for your info the Kaiafas Festival has 10 live acts (six of the international) and 26 dj sets (14 of them international) and trust me artists like Alien Project,Electric Universe,Orion,Ticon,Logic Bomb,Deedrah,Dino Psaras and Human Blue cost a lot more than the artists playing in the Boom this year
P.S The site will be up on Friday

Prove it. Otherwise you're just stirring shit. Plus you're not bringing them in from anything like as far afield (Scandinavia and Israel as opposed to Australia and ZA).
I don't understand how the untalented thief Linker can possibly charge $2500+ for his ripped-off wares. Oh, and I know Ticon's prices are actually very reasonable. |

Actually - I am thinking of composing an e-mail to all the good people at GoodMood asking them to pay me to come to their festival. If they have soooo much money I am sure they won't mind. I can play a little bit of djembe and I can dance like a loon, so there is plenty of entertainment. But did anyone think about....
Security
Bar Staff
Toilet Staff
Food Vendors
Payments to police (must happen....)
Cost for infrastructure
Land rental
First aid
General festivakl staff - and please do not tell me that these are all volunteers.....oooh - don't do that!
The cost of cleaning up after 15000 odd people.
The list could go on, but I am hungry and I am going to find a small child to eat as I am a capatilist money loving pig, just like our friends at GoodMood - please leave them alone.... |

yes we do have a discount...but the rest of Europe doesn't...I was comparing the lineup since that is what everyone is talking about...and some people said that it takes a lot of money to bring all the artists from those different parts of the world...and I know it's not always like that since most artists go on tour in Europe..
And like I said before, take any other festival and compare it's price at the entrance and lineup to boom...and you will come to this conclusion

Taling about food, a friend told me people were not allow to cook for sell. Only breakfast and cold things.
This because the org has a tent with official food, and crazy prices. He told me about 1 yogurt = 1,5 euros
I wasn't there, but is this true?
I were in 98 and 2000, and it wasn't like this!
Does anyone has information about how its going to be this year?
About the price, i don't think is too much!
I think they should invest more in the line-up, and i must say that at least for Portugal, some of the bands you all been talking ab out, don't charge that much!
And for Boom, as far as i know, they don't ask. Boom says "we pay this!" "Don't you want to play in a festival like this?"
New bands don't say no... but it look like the old one's said!
Anyway, except for the portuguese "shanti mitras" it will be a great festival, and it will worth the 70/85/100 euros!

First of all flight tickets have nothing to do with artists prices. And just for your info you dont want to know the prices from Ibiza and Scandinavia to Greece for this Olympic Summer, trust me there are very high.Plus Space Tribe that you mentioned will be hanging around Europe this summer and wont fly from Australia.....
Now about prices since you challenge me...
I can inform you that Alien Project and Logic Bomb that are two of the big names of Kaiafas Festival charge more than Atmos and Tristan live perfomances that are the big names of the Boom Festival.I know of all of the guys and have worked with most of them in the recent past.If you want exact prices then feel free to email them and ask them about it cause i dont wanna mention numbers here.
I can also assure you that a Deedrah or Dino Psaras dj set is more expensive than Dimitri Nakov or James Monro dj set,no need to mention that i have worked with all the guys in the past also and that they are close friends most of them. For exact prices you can always email them again ofcourse.
Star Sounds Orchestra is a relative cheap live act though their live perfomance is absolutely amazing, the guys care mostly for the music and not the money.Respect to them.
Now if you think that Menog,Zirkin and Azax Syndrom cost more than Ticon,Orion,Koxbox or Electric Universe then probably you are not well informed at all....
What i am saying doesnt come from my mind or fantasy,i am organising events worldwide for the last three years and have worked with almost the majority of artists in the trance scene and not only.
P.S Just because an artist charges more than another doesnt mean that he is better or more respected. All the names mentioned in my post were used just as examples and not to offend or disrespect anyone.
