is good to have a big festival with out BIG names..but STILL with GOOD MUSIC ..
BOOM FESTIVAL is all about the gathering...the spirit..and not about BIG NAMES..
in my opinion the line up has very good music..
and why not make a big festival with only underground music??remember in 97???
people are forgeting the true meaning of trance music....

well, i agree, that 100 euros is a little bit expensive....but what people are saying about the line up...(it´s a matter of taste), i don´t agree with it at all...people have 2 get new horizons and expect other stuff....let your mind and ears and visuals b surprised...menog has said very well...and by the way....the ticket price as far as i know is not only 4 the line up...
and i don´t want 2 b rude...but people if u don´t like it...don´t go...there are alot of festivals (like full moon fest.)that the line up is concentrated in full on....thix sound that comes on goodmood, is their trademark since always....
people have new horizons....           ...

@Menog

Well, well, sob... sob... 1997. the first BOOM, sweet memories
Yeah, the festival was real underground with about 2.500 ppl and it was an unforgettable experience. On the flyer was written:

quote: ...main dance area - here the stage will be presenting more then 30 of the best psychedelic Trance Artists.

The key word is 'the best'. Not 'promising' (although the 'fresh blood' was included too, which was great!).
Here to mention some of the artists:
- Slinky Wizard
- Orion
- Digitalis
- Shakta
- Technossomy
- MFG
- Man made man
- Jaia
- Elysium
- Sid Shanti
- Mark Allen
- James Monro
- Tristan
- Anti
- Dominic Lamb
- Jon Om
- Cosmix
- Domino
- Jean Borelli
- Acan

Those artists were the peak of the scene then in 1997. And yes, the vibe was underground (whatever it means) and the festival was great.
The price was 20 pounds or 55 DM.

I bought my ticket about a month ago not knowing the line up, but even if I had known the BOOM 2004 line up earlier I'll still have bought the ticket and that because I've always highly appreciated the vibes always shared at the BOOM festivals.
Peace

the line up is a joke...you wanna keep it underground, do that the underground way, not charging 100euros...this is a fiasco. and don't get me wrong i'm all for this spirit and unity thing but sorry i won't pay 100e for it...get real the organizers are trying to make money through this spirit...

ts ts ts ... no line-up no cup!!! ts ts ts...            (``·.¸(``·.¸(``·.¸¸.·`´)¸.·`´)¸.·`´)
..and when i say goodnight, the pictures in my head will dance inside my room and frolic in my bed ...and when i say good day they hide behind my eyes waiting for the dreams to bring them back to life...

People should just get something else to bitch about. All around you the world is falling apart and you are small minded enough to worry about another festival...

Also - there were earlybird tickets available up until the 15/6, so you could have bought early and saved your money.

If you are just going to a festival to dance the whole time and not view anything else there, then I will be avoiding you as you are probably the type that will be too fucked to recognise where they are, let alone which music is playing....

Every guy that says that a festival is not about the music but about the vibe is tottally from another planet or something (sorry if i sound a little rude but thats the way i see it).

Most people go to a festival mostly to hear good music and their favorite artists and have fun and secondly for the vibe and everything else.I dont know if thats good or not but its a fact for sure.

And charging 100 euros for this kind of line up is tottally unacceptable (except ofcourse if the organisers present a massive sound system and laser show that will balance the price).

My humble opinion (and i wont hide behind my finger on this one) is that the organisers knew that people this year wanted badly to attent the Boom Festival and they took advantage of this great will in order to profit out of it.I mean i have friends of mine here in Greece that talk to me about this years Boom for months now so i am preety sure that the organisers also know whats going on globbally.

For me it was a mistake to present such a line up because now many people WILL NOT attend the festival while if they presented a big line up (while it was expected) even more people would come and this would be for sure a massive event.

Wrong tactics my dear organisers, wrong tactics...           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!

But what constitutes a 'Big Act'?

I'm sorry, but Astrix has always been boring, Infected lost it long ago, GMS's remixes have *always* been better than their own output, and have you actually *heard* Skazi's Zoo3 (it's f**king *terrible*!)? Along with Psychotic Micro, Azax Syndrom is pretty much the only decent thing I've heard come out of Israel in the last year or so.

The scene is moving on from cookie-cutter psytrance-by-numbers - it's been done to death and people are getting bored of it. We've had Growling Infected Astrix over in the UK at least 3 times in the last year - they've got to be playing elsewhere at least as often... why on earth would you want to see them *yet again*?

Personally I reckon this Boom lineup is going to rock our socks off, and I can't wait.

All I have to say man is ......."fuck yeah". I have seen a number of these guys before in Australia and other places and they really do rock!! I agree that pop trance has been taking over and the organisers are taking us somewhere else!

Hehehe - unlikely I'd get bored of them...

I've already seen a Shpongle DJ set this year, and Eat Static are going to be at Glade

I know I'm luckier than most when it comes to this though...

Having so many diverse emotions after the line up was presented just demonstrates the growth of trance music, its expansion and variety. Today it's nearly impossible to reveal a line up that will please every single one of us, it was easier in the past, that's why i consieder comparing previous Boom and Samothraki festivals with this one irrelevant. I remember 2 years ago on Samothraki freaking out when GMS were playing, it's something i'll never forget, but nowadays i'm not even reaching for GMS CDs. Trance for me is an evolving experience, unlike some other genres that suffer from rigidness. Therefore i hail Boom organizers for chosing the evolutionary path, giving a chance to less known artists to show their visions and not leting the festival to become just a repetition of past events.

the line up its not too bad.. its a matter of tastes.. but when you do a festival you just dont put sounds so equal.. this look like a nigth festival.. its this way trance going.. goa gil party style.. lot of good mood around and the music just make you have bad feelings or look scared... in a party we have to have time to all types of music..nigth..darck at nigth.. morning..full on..pop trance at day.. prog..techtrance at the afternoon...in my opinion...
so boom organizer's where are the morning live acts? hydrophonic its good but just one?
i think the personal taste take over the line up make up...
when you think you are better and have the rigth tastes you try that others have the same or just have persons that like the same as u... its sad because you stoped in time.. and to finish you ask 100 euros to enter your festival..
sorry if i look rude its just my opinion. no hard feelings.. after all i will went to the festival to see where are the 70 euros i paid for.. when things run ok people dont complain.. so or we are all crazy..or you start to go down and down..deeper underground..
stay well see you at boom festival           Hatha yoga, body and mind balanced...
