There's so much literature, yet, i have no idea where to look and i'd like to know more about these cultures, especially about their beliefs and temples, if possible not about the Mayan calendar and 2012.It'd be nice if you had any recommendations. |

kind of... popol vuh was compiled very lately and was traduced first by spanish monks, so the acuracy to "true" mayan mytology is limited.
Also take into account maya society was based on city-state systems, as greeks were, so mytology changed to one city to another and then inperiods of time.
I think the best way to learn a bit about mayans its to come to mexico and visit archeological sites, museums and later read some good book, If I remeber well Cambridge has a collection of mexican history very well made.

Login : yeah, that's what i meant to do, travel to several places in central and south america, but i meant to do it in the reverse order-first read the books to get a few insights and then travel! |
