Hi I just bought the Dynaudio BM6A MK II monitors...before i used the Creative 2.1 I-trigue..just computer speakers for home users..but they gave a good bass sound..n i'm used to them..now with the dynaudios i think they lack a lot of bass..Is this because i'm not used to real studiomonitors that should be flat in sound or is the truth that the bm6a dont have a good base? my room is like 4.5 * 4.5 meters...thank you for answers..

maybe you seat in a place where the bass are cancelling, try to change the place of your monitors ,moving them just a bit can be enought, or you just have been used to hear lot of bass...

Make sure they're at ear level and set up at the proper angles and everything..use the search for monitor placement threads..

I assume you had a sub with your creative set, and it's very possible that you were hearing too much bass before you got the dynaudios. The BM6A's have a response starting at around 40hz, so you probably just need to get used to hearing the bass as tight and accurate instead of muddy like the comp. speaker subs.           You believe in the users?
Yeah, sure. If I don't have a user, then who wrote me?

Hey!

Yes I'va done all the right placement..the 60 degree angle triangle..n the right height n so on..also tried to move them..so maybe thats the thing that i'm not used to the real quality bass..but if I change to other monitors maybe i will be satisfied with the bass? or maybe the fact is that 40Hz is good enough and other speakers will just do the same..?

The BM6A's definitely have enough bass you're probably just used to hearing hyped bass from your creative speakers.

A square room is actually one of the worst rooms to be in so if you haven't done it already then consider putting some bass traps in your room.           http://www.soundcloud.com/getafixmusic

how about the HP build in filter on them?
have you tried tweak that?

i also believe phase can cause this , happened to me in my last gig.. lucky that i couldnt believe this huge speakers got so tiny bass.. so they flipped the phase on the bass channel on one of the stereo in the amp and all got good (took long time to explain that to no english speaking russian lol)

hi, i came up with the same... as i bought my first studio monitors.

i thought for that money they better blow me away haha...
but, they are not made to blow you away, the are made to hear the perfect "real" sound.

the longer you are mixing with those speakers, the better you will hear the bass.

(also test the placement of the high/low stand, makes alot difference i noticed)

ja, i ment vertical placement sorry
changing it for 10cm already makes a "huge" difference for me

a few days ago i listened about 20 min to the same lead, until i activated kick, bass+hihats at the same time. it nearly blew me away and i couldnt understand where this "sub"bass came from.

cheap pc speakers just boost the basses and highs for cool sound, but you dont want cool sound at this point, you want linear sound.

play with some knobs at your synth with the new monitors and you will hear your money in every mouseklick.

thats the funniest shit ive heard all day
ur comparing the bass detail of creative 2.1's to the dyna's !!
that statement is evidence enough that you really need to train your ears , because apparently you dont know what precise bass sounds like,,
the bm6a if im not mistaken , rolls of at abt 41hz ,,, which is substantial for dance music production and bedroom producers

maybe u need some treatment in ur room ,,, or rearrange your sweetspot ,, another tip is to get isolation pads for your speakers ,, gives a better harmonic response

best of luck

in hi volume if you go to the corner of the room , there is no subs there?? if it just the middle of the room?

if so its defintly phase/acoustic problem

troubleshoot - diffrent position of the speakers and working position and/or acoustic treatment .

if there is no sub in hi volume in the corner of the room then they are broken.

please check with some mastered cd and not your own metirial.
