A return to form for Mr Bluetech?
Methinks so. Possibly Bluetech's best work since 2005's "Sines And Singularities". Whilst last year’s "Love Songs To The Source" was a great album with some great songs on it, to me it didn't quite hit the mark for reasons I don't quite fathom. Maybe the music didn’t have that sharp edge that Bluetech’s music often has, it was smoothed over to become more easy listening (which is fine, btw, nothing wrong with that at all).
Anyway, now we have Rainforest Reverberation. And as Bluetech says in his email (see below the tracklist), he has already found success and fame through music, so he doesn’t need to prove anything anymore. Which I guess leaves him free to just create something he likes from his soul. And the resultant album of super tunes speaks for itself in my opinion.
Lovely stuff!
Here’s the tracklist:
1. Becoming The Seed (Ft. Eve Ladyapples) 03:20
2. 667 (Kayla Scintilla Remix) 05:20
3. Emerald Epiphytes 07:22
4. Thunder Song 05:00
5. Emerald Epiphytes (KiloWatts Rattlefunk Remix) 06:07
6. 667 06:00
7. Inner Space Funk (Ft. Katrina Blackstone) 03:40
8. Unidentified Flying Octopus (Mr. Bill Remix) 04:48
9. Mycorrhiza Mambo 05:00
10. Unidentified Flying Octopus 04:48
11. Mama Llama Maestro 06:05
12. Avatar of The Horticult 09:18
13. Becoming The Ancestor (Ft. Eve Ladyapples) 03:42
Also, it’s great to see a couple of locals get remix duties. Kalya Scintilla’s and Mr Bill’s remixes are top notch!

Btw, did I mention all proceeds got to charity? 100 percent of all album proceeds go to end deforestation, species loss and cultural upheaval in the Amazon. So, I did it. I created a successful career in music. I've traveled around the world, created many albums, played in front of thousands of people, and my work is recognized globally.
Why does it hurt so much then? Every time I board another plane to another city to another airport to another hotel to another club to another airport to the next one, something inside me hurts. I'm burning fossil fuels to fly around the world and share my music for what?
I don't need any more success. I don't need any more recognition. I don't need any more album sales, as I can get a job just like everyone else to pay my bills, though paying my rent from music is nice. I don't need any more attention, accolades, props, or "likes" for what I do.
I need to make a mark. I need to leave something behind when my time in this world is done. I need to know that my life wasn't just lived for me, that I actually did something with all of this energy and attention which is directed my way. It hurts to see my beautiful world damaged, and to know that I am also directly responsible for that, either through my actions, or more importantly through my inactions.
So I have another album. If it's just for my own ego satisfaction, then it's not worth releasing. I found that I had no reason to do this anymore, because you've all heard what I have to say musically, and we've all danced under many many moons to these beats which flow through me. I had to find a way to make it matter.

Been listening to this nonstop for the past few days. It is indeed outstanding!
I also agree with the various remixes on there being top notch. Especially the Kalya Scintilla remix.
Just wish it was coming out on CD, but I completely understand why it is not.
Did you not find Divine Invasion to be in standard Bluetech form? I love that album, but I, too, feel Love Songs was subpar (but not bad at all!). |

I thought Divine Invasion had good production and i do like it, but the music itself never captured me like Sine and Singularites did. Or like this does.
That said, maybe I need to listen again, it's been a while... |

To me, this is Bluetech coming back stronger than ever. I was a huge fan of his earlier works; like a lot of his solo works, and somewhat the Divine Invasion album and "love songs to the source". Seems to me Evan took a deep breath and took a turn for the better. He somehow managed to combine all his skills in this album; techincally, harmonically and aesthetically. This album will give me hour upon hour of listening pleasure.
Too bad it will not generate 20 pages of HOORAY like some other artists here do. But hey, this is life..

What are you talking about?
Dreamtime Submersible was the best album he ever did.
I have every album and I thought this and the previous one were terrible I'm afraid. Its been downhill since Phoenix Rising and I suspect the best of Bluetech is in the past now. (just being honest, not flaming) |

Oh, interesting. I try to do something which is specifically not about ego, or my career, or making money. Try to inspire people to think about ways to get off of themselves and make positive change, and I get accused of being a wank and an ego.
And that my friends is why I don't frequent this forum anymore. |

Bluetech, I just want to thank you for everything you have done over the years as an artist and as a label manager/owner as well.
Your music, and also the music of the other artists you released via somnia adds a lot of color to my life. Thank you !
I will buy the 'Love Songs to the Source' album very soon as well.
About 'Rainforest Reverberation', didn't buy it yet. Need to listen to it more before having an opinion.
Cheers !

'Sines and Singularities' is still my favorite Bluetech album. One of the best Aleph Zero releases as well. Pure magic.
Just had to say
