I am seriously considering this for my home monitoring system. Can I get some opinions from people. What do you think?

Although I theoretically could save for some Dynaudio BM6A, I consider the Blue Sky system to be more practical for an apartment setting. Your advisal counts!

But at the same time the BM6A's seem so solid. No one bad review and it is tested by GOOD ears and accepted...decisions decisions decisions. Help me out.

Blue Sky Pro Desk 2.1 is very good monitoring system from what i have read all over. I don't really know if a sub/sat system would be more practical for an apartment in terms of sound volume since you'll have the sub which is always on the floor and this might disturb the neighbours more than having 2 speakers placed on stands.

What you say about the BM6A is absolutely true if you can afford them.

But i'd like to suggest a third alternative which you might want to consider and this is the Mackie HR-624. I got a pair about 6 months ago and i couldn't be happier. They have small footprint but they sound like ten times their size. They are extremely accurate and detailed and until now all the mixdowns-"masterings" i've made translate perfectly to any system i tried them on. They have almost zero learning curve(at least for me) which means that very soon after you start using them and get used to their super detailed sound, what you hear is exactly what it is, with no guesswork involved at all.

And the best part is that you can find them for less than 1000 euros, most likely around 800, since they are on offer from a lot of retailers. And in the future you could always invest on the Mackie sub(which is a monstrous beast, sound and pricewise) and then you just have one of the best 2.1 monitoring systems available on this planet(according to reviews from music mags editors and users as well).

I hope i helped instead of confusing more.           A friend told me once that the biggest mistake we make is that we believe we live, when in reality we are sleeping in the waiting room of life.

hello aktif,

i have this blue sky system you are talking about now for 1 and a half year.
for the price they are not bad but if you can afford the dynaudio bm6a do it.

i want to sell my blue skys. somewhere in the high mid range they are not so good. probably because of the size limitations of the speakers of the small subs. somehow i overproduce in the high mid with these blue skys. giving terrible noise there. checked on three different audiosystems and all coming to the same point.

now i am thing abt the bm6a maybe there are peopl with real experience like me with theser blueskys. so who knows abt Dynaudio BM6A?

Hello Vipal -

It sounds like the tweeters in your SAT 5s may have an air leak. We had a batch of Vifa XT-19 tweeters that have developed air leaks over time. Vifa of Denmark has manufactured a gasket which can be used to fix this problem. Feel free to e-mail me directly and we can arrange to take care of this for you, by sending you the required part (easily installed by the end user).

hey Nick, it's Airyck Talk to Scott about it, He owns a set of blue sky monitors, I'm sure he'd be able to give you a good honest opinion on them. Also Greg (Mubali) just moved in with him and said he thinks they are pretty decent as well.

Though as said above it's always best if you can just hear them your self.

Also a good option would be go down to Guitar Center (it just opened here in C.R. on the 1st of Feb) it's Across from best buy. They have a bunch of monitors that you can listen to there so you can try some out. Don't know if they have any of the blue sky ones but you can check out a bunch of others.

So glad we finally have some sort of pro audio in our town

Anyway good luck on the decision.
