Blue Sky 10 yr anniversary
hello! broadcasting this announcement to the peoples of: Alien Underground,
Blue Sky family and friends, Estrella Family, Green Sector, Integral Gathering,
Moontribe, Palm Springs Kidz, the fine folks in San Diego, San Frandisco, and
Las Vegas, [please, *don't*
broad-cast this further, feel free to share it with close friends
(narrow-cast!)].
there's something happening out in the forest at the end of this month, a
celebration of earth, life, music, and art, and everything that entails:
variable high winds, overnight lows, love, dance, blacklights and really loud
music. every summer we make a long weekend visit to Big Bear, (i think this is
our 6th year...), we do a group volunteer activity saturday morning in
cooperation with the San
Bernardino National Forest, then retire to a big beautiful campground, lay
around most of the afternoon enjoying the weather and the trees and some good
food, then ease our way into an evening/night/morning/afternoon of dancing.
here's the plot:
saturday morning
9am-2pm - volunteer activity "light cleaning" with Linda S. (big bear,
S.B.N.F.). light cleaning probably translates as picking up spent shells and
other shooting trash at some messed-up forest spot.
saturday afternoon
2-6pm - laying around, bullshitting, troublemaking
Larry S. (riverside grill works) - coordinating the BBQ and laying around
saturday thru sunday, music appreciation with DJ's:
6-9pm Too Many Christians (world-traveler, ambassador-at-large, Sierra Madre,
CA)
9-11pm Dj Feather (what happens at blue sky, stays at blue sky, Psycircle, Las Vegas, NV)
11-1am Johnny Feelfree (did you say blue sky *vodka*? L.A., CA)
1-4am Bodhi 13:20 (Psycircle, Truffle Rec. San Diego, CA)
4-7am Mubali [live set] (Trishula Rec., San Francisco, CA)
7-10am Paradigm (San Francisco, CA)
10-12pm Dj Lucina (San Diego, CA)
12-2pm Dj Myke Lazar (L.A., CA)
2-4pm Orence (L.A., CA)
i would describe the music as covering the gamut from easy listening to dark
psytrance. (i'm serious)
general info
FIRES - there is not to be any fires in the mountains, So if you planning on bringing your fire gear bring your own fire exstiguisher
and let some one know so we can be prepared.
weather - big bear is cold a lot of the time... during the summer it will get
pretty warm during the day, and then really cold at night. plan accordingly.
there will be portapotties for your peeing and pooping pleasure, provided by
stormin' norman
there will be mighty sound, provided by the fine people of alien underground.
there will be no trash left at the campsite, provided by you and your
conscientious friends. we came to big bear to do a volunteer *clean-up*,
right?
play safe, the nearest hospital is far away over wind-y bumpy dirt roads.
if you're reading this going, "who? what?" don't worry about it, i'm
sure there's something *really* good on tv that weekend! 
And then after the last Dj get in your car and go home, don't talk about it just
get the f*ck out the Forest with every little piece of trash, friends, memories,
pictures that you brought and took during our little journey in the Forest...

funny BSP  ha ha ha ha, i think my favorite dj on the lineup is "Too Many Christians" hee hee, i'd go just for easy listening

some good full power morning tunes as well, and see really cool special ones from my new upcoming project....
proper music, for the approprite time of day. Everything in its right place and time is what i always say
and its unfortunate that this is the same weekend as psytribe, i wish i could be at both, but alas i can not , unless i run really really fast, but then id be too tired to dance...
anyways im very excited about this. Ive been booked at it since spring, and been looking forward to this event, more than most typical gigs
the lineup is made up of some of my favorite acts and people around.....
cant wait |

Oh, my! I have to work that weeked. I was planning on hitting both parties (Psytribe & Blue Sky). Unfortunately, got a new job and have to stay in that weekend. See you all next time.

hey dick, I'm glad you can take a joke! maybe nobody else got that.....
keep to your families as you should. Psytribe is awesome, I would go if I could, but I was booked for this. this party is not meant to compete, it's its own thing.
here are direx:::
Directions to Thomas Hunting Grounds:
Take all alternative routes to 10 east to Redlands
Exit Orange St./Downtown/38
pass a couple of Intersections
First Light you come up to is Orange St/38-Reset your trip meter:
(Your not going to touch your Reset meter from now)
Turn left on to Orange st. continue forward
at .5 miles turn Right on to Lugonia Ave.
Continue forward on to Lugonia around 2.4 miles
Lugonia turns into Mentone Blvd. Cont onto Mentone Blvd.
Towards Angelus Oaks.
at 7.7 miles theres is a fork on the road stay to your left
and continue towards Mtn. Resorts.
at 13.7 miles there is another fork on the road stay to your left again
and go up the mountain on Hwy 38.
at 18.7 miles to your left there is a Restaurant(The Oaks Rest.)
Store and a post office.
Go through the parking lot past the Store and Post Office,
onto a Dirt Road.
Continue through Dirt Rd. 1N12 Rd marker.
This is were it may be tricky you want to stay in the middle of the Dirt
Road.
When you see a White Gate you want to go through that gate and
continue to Thomas Hunting Grounds.
I believe aroung 5 to 6 miles on to dirt road. Stay on the main dirt
road. it will End at Thomas Hunting Ground.

big bear was great, absolutely incredible weather. very good tunes from everybody - from the beginning to the end. the deco around the stage was slick - string art, feather's wicked paintings, and Dana's mushroom garden.
blue sky was the first socal tribe that i encountered from an old san diego dj friend; Mantis. Blue Sky is a very intimate type of gathering. small crowds but very family oriented. many thanks to larry and ed for keeping this outdoor annual ritual alive. until next time... |

thanx so much to Larry and Ed for this gathering, it was extremely wonderful to be there....
all night starting with Johnny feel free, then Hidro and I playing 2z, then Mubali......psychedelic trance
the crazy, psychedelic, comparatively darker style.....all the way until 7am. Then came Paradigm with the morning hits, nice one P.
when I got there in the daytime, there were many bugs flying around bothering people. shortly after the sun started going down, out came the bats, diving in front of peoples faces in order to eat all the bugs. the bugs either got eaten or freaked out and left. it wasn't long before all the bugs were gone. it was nice to meet Josh from Mistical prod. who just moved here from texas, he was the one who provided the excellent string art. He told me when he first drove up to the party that he saw a huge black bear less than a mile away from the party crossing the dirt road. they don't call it big bear for nothing, but I thought they were extinct in so cal.
perfect weather, lots of shooting stars, great music, and wonderful people. can't wait till next time.
