beware: once you have a blue name, you can't post as freely as the rest of us without having everyone jump down your throat. if you criticize any music at all, people will listen to your music and think "this is this guys idea of perfect music? it sucks!" and then they'll lecture you about responsibilities of an artist and how you should be grateful and whatnot.... seems kind of a shitty deal.
if you don't frequent the chill board, you might be unaware of the epic of mauxuam. he's some mediocre producer with a big mouth who everyone hates and has ostracized because he is quite outspoken with his (often negative) opinions. i guarantee that if he didn't have the coveted blue name no one would give 2 shits or a fuck about how hard he rips on other peoples tunes.
also, its not even a big deal anymore to have the blue name; clearly they just give it out to any shmuck who put together a couple tracks. back in the day the only ones who had blue names were artists you'd actually heard of and who's music you'd enjoyed. now? i mean, come on....have you heard of ANY of the guys posting in this thread besides Colin OOOD? i didn't think so...
