Vibrating Balance recently made its debut appearence as a label dedicated to progressive electro/house music, established in Sydney by Michal Ruzicka aka Dj Schwa who already manages the more techno-oriented Beef records. The label’s second instalment releases a rmx package of German/Russian duo BlendBrank’s “Synthetic Symphony”.

Synthetic Symphony (Deadmau5 remix)
Canqdian Joel Zimmerman is the man behind the Deadmau5 moniker, one of the most in-demand electro-house producers, remixers and DJs on the world circuit. He is first to open the ball, and gives another demonstration of his chunky bassline that grabs you and hooks onto your hips with plenty of groove. This is bouncy electro-house, perfectly suited for the club and the dance. My only regret is that the piece is soon over, i. e. 5 mn is short and the track shows little evolution. But this is a minor qualification given the piece’s potential.

Synthetic Symphony (Emjae rmx)
Boston-based electro-house producer Emjae has caught attention by publishing at esteemed labels such as Curvve, Baroque or Little Mountain and has received the support of distinguished DJs such as Steve Porter and none less than Sasha Digweed. His take on the seminal piece unfolds a deeper touch with catchy nano riffs and slightly echoing mellow chord strikes that yield a warm housey feel and aim at dancefloor friendliness. Two quite similar good breaks drop in a zest of atmospheric notes but do so without releasing the tension on your hips, and each time the beat slams back in an elegant way. Another a reliable DJ tool.

Synthetic Symphony (Mohawk remix)
Newcastle-based producer Mo Volans aka Mohawk sets his sights on more pop-rock infused electro, with a transposed the bass which IMHO tends to be a heck, and does not atone for the candid, if not to say cheesy melody. This is a far less demanding and a more commercial version of club music.

Bottom line:
Favourite are Deadmau & Emjae rmx
