I second that, please...
Darker edge, metal guitar riffs, no probs, but black metal is just a bit too much, at least for me.

new Xylamanda project is very "Doom Metal" (ie My Dying Bride, Sins of Thy Beloved) and "Industrial/EBM" (ie Psyclon Nine, Hocico) inspired. Very heavy music, but still insanely psychedelic

Is this psytrance on 60 BPM with violins or something? |

It'S not black metal, but actually the first track of the new C.O.N.SEQUENCER album "Strang Planet" starts with an all time SLAYER guitar riff ..... although I got a little bored with 0815 guitar tracks this one is imo not that bad..... as an old death metal fanatic sometimes I like this shit
I rather prefer such extreme and uncommercial influences then some VIP act going to MTV.... |

no, not at all, think of the double time percussion, its super fast, yet still similar in atmosphere

i agree with Crovo...Baphomet Engine has good sense of taste. They are using no popular and sissy guitar sound like. They have good quality of mind and muzik. They are doing right with thier Evil guitar.... |

It's actually nothing new, but nowadays it sounds too old and kind of a past formula for many people. Old Skazi, Talamasca, Infected Mushroom, Dark Soho, Dark Nebula were the first to do it, together with Sun Project of course. But than we received a lot of crap like Metallica and Nirvana remixes that aged so fast. The feeling of an underground music remixed by underground psy artists was in fact a commercial one. Nowadays we still find artists like Baphomet Engine but it doesn't really work for me. The only good track that is actually a combination of metal and trance I can think of is Xenomorphs Obituary remix (too bad I forgot the name).

ok sure there have been guitars in trance before, but if you consider Sun Project black metal trance, uhhhh, no way!! the skazi, sun project, etc guitar trance is more like butt rock guitar riffs, no where near black metal guitar stuff. Dark Soho is (WAS) closer in feeling, but still not the same...
