umm, im sorry if my expressing something in a way you didnt appreciate, its just the same way most of the india section refers to 'morning' music as cheezy fluff right...
are you telling me theres a specific way to classify trance?? firstly trance has trickled down from many subgenres of electronic music to reach where it is today... the deekchang music as i call it (forgive me) and the cheezy fluff, have all come from the same place... what is the number one problem with electronic music today??? that everymorning theres a new subgenre created.. why?? because everyone wants to sound different...
as far as im concerned (and hey what would i know, ive only been a dj on 3rd eye for 3 years), i call it dark... sure maybe the correct terminology is night, but my friend you obviously havent heard my boy tool play a sunrise...

is this the same tool who used to play in parties till some years back , also involved with serephena records n stuff ..
then my friend i have heard, also i must add that i have been going to parties now for almost a decade so pretty much heard all kinds of music ))
ur right there have been many transitions , i remember when neuromotor parties in karjat 5 years back used to be the ultimate trancedance music at that point of time , real mean twisted stuff ,
have been to first 4 -5 neuro parties ard bpmbay , too much energy .. dust flying all ard , girls stripping thir clothes off n all that : ) , just pure maniacko stuff eheh
those days that was numero uno stuff along with psychotic micro and azax syndrome n likes ..
for that matter there was a party in 2000 i went to at jaani's farms and that day shiva joerg played for 10+ hours , and he played the stuff that i had never heard or even imagined off .. it is still one of the top 3 PARTIES EVER by a long distance to have hit bombay , but i hear the same man in bombay a year or 2 back [ same party i guess u played as well =) ] , i couldnt believe what i was lissening too .. things had changed so much
but then things do change and in this case it has changed in a big way , it should be just called night music or twisted music , sounds a lot more meaningfull : )

yes music has changed @everyone....
and change is constant...
BUT
what does that have got to do with house being played @ a TRANCE gig.....
dont call it a PSY trance gig.....
call it a HOUSE.. gig.. so that all those who dont want to listen to HOUSE wont come...
and ORGS... why should people go and do research on an artist before coming to a gig... isnt it the duty of the ppl org the gig to inform people about the kind of music that would be played... if said in simple words... ****main act HOUSE****FILLERS by local psy dj`s**** I guess saying so will kill the turnout and not rope in the mollah ehh....

you talk about change... when i started going to trance parties in bbay it was only A and hus thats it sunset to sunrise, zero politics... clear differentiation between night and morning music no one fucking cared they just wanted to dance.. ive been to the boom the glade countless parties in india all over europe.. but its only here that someones going to go to a 6 hour party KNOWING the lineup and then still bitch.. thats all im saying....

Man I love that, its like straight 1 Tighhhhhht Slap on those faces, so relax dude  . I ws not thr for GMS, but Illumination was too good.

and yes a lot has changed for sure. from the times of Psy Nitin.. and Asad and Whosane.. and swamiji and Razz on fridays...
atleast orgs would not get HOUSE artists and claim its going to b a TRANCE gig..

What if one does not have the time for any jack research.. and goes by the orgs words...
makes the time to attend the gig.. has a mind set for trance and gets some HOUSE instead.... now thats sad aint it??...

well any ways... I had a blast on sunday... and no not bcoz of th music.. but bcoz i met up with a lot of people I had not met in years.. and all coz i attended the gig... so thanks any way.....

then we have dark ,full on ,plus electro house or whateva in the line up...... its too many odds to make a party click or liked by many... but it mst have reasons i am sure....

Thought this thread was closed, but since some people are still getting offended, thought will add my 50 paisa.
This is not a personal attack against anyone. The party stank and that won't change even if the organizer or his friends are on isra to defend it. If I go by what you have to say, then the whole idea of party reviews should be redundant. Because everyone will check artists on myspace and know the whole set by heart and will jump at the right basslines and everyone will go back home happy. Wish that was the scene, but parties don't end up like that. So this was just a harmless review.
And I never wanted an outdoor location for this gig. This artist would have done nothing for me anywhere, in fact, there can't be a better location than the glass house in guwahati. Let's wait for reviews on that.
No offense to anyone, but I really hope no one gets offended because it feels lame to come back here and write another reply on a party that happened 4 days back.

rather than not having an idea what ricardo(biotouch) plays i guess he didnt have any clue what we exactly want..!!
but its foolish to blame organisers for this.. its absolutely rubbish.. cause i think let the dj spin his style .. u like it good if u hate it just leave from there..!! why do people like neruo/azax/bizzare contact ... these djs have their own style to play.. u know azax is gonna rip u off .. but when? when azax plays his own style..!!!
whatever happened.. organisers have learnt out of it.. but not something what you thinking...obviously they have to consider psy heads but not all the time.. there are millions of people listning to progressive too and today all top 10 djs in the world plays progressive or hard house agreed isra trance is only for psychedelic.. but there is always a room for every gener of music in isra..
and there is no where written DARK is the best or watever.. every gener of music is the best.. whichever u like go for it...its always open..and spread the love and +vibes of the music u love... share the music u love... and not complaint about the MUSIC..(style or anything)... as i said if u dont like it.. just ignore it and look forward to other gigs..which may turn out to be a madness..
first time when i started listning to psy i use to listen progressive and i didnt know a jack shit about dark and morning.. i couldnt even figure it out..!! i learnt by attending parties in goa bombay etc.. so you always learn different dj sytles and their sets.. its always good to attend gigs guys lol
