i felt pretty much like killing myself while listening to this album..
might be the music, might be my general feeling at the moment..
what ever the case, i wasn't too impressed..
but it's groovy as hell, gotta grant them that..

Clarification: I may have somewhat exaggerated with the "hunt and kill" bit for comical purposes.
I promise I'll try not to be as sarcastic in the future. I'll be as politically correct as I can. I believe that people should be sheltered from words and improper humor.
Who's with me to kill the 'Friends' crew???

Well, I just had to post my admiration for the Bigwigs guys. This album may not be for everyone's ear and mind, but I'm sure it will be one of the milestones of psytrance. Breaking away of the multiple releases we have nowadays of copy&paste or clone music (as you prefer) this is an inovative, fresh, well built and definetely filled with greatness album. Been a fan of the Bigwigs since Moc Paproci and Fraktalik Fraternity just confirmed their status in the trance Universe.

it's not really that fresh either..
this is just a mild version of finnish psytrance..

I am glad that Bigwigs decided to make something that's different from the usual "progressive" tunes or the GMS clones. It takes some courage, because you can be certain when you make something different that you will be ridiculed.
I don't think Bigwigs intentionally 'copied' any ideas from Finnish psy, but this album does sound like a milder version of Finnish psy-trance at some times (but not the whole album). |

Traveller: Considering that there's no 100% finnish act that knows how to do progressive (I don't consider Highpersonic Whomen finnish at all - they make scandinavian music), I wouldn't call this finnish at all. The comparisson is like saying Timo is a mild version of Frank Zappa. It's not the same music.

This album is one of the rare gems that makes me think 'psytrance is a great thing'. It's too weird for you? Go listen to techno, house, clubtrance... you definately don't have anything to do with psychedelic music. People who can't enjoy this album will be given ten minutes to run to the closest techno/house/disco/metal club. And then will be hunted down and killed.

I AM A SITTING DUCK, COME GET ME
im gonna try to do this a bit smoother than last time... sorry for that....
Bigwigs, this piece of plastic is going to my shame corner... i have never in my whole life been so dissapointed over a talent like yours beeing spoiled because u have an obsession of beeing "diffrent" and "cool" use youre talents... use it as far as u can... this album sounds like a randomized pattern with flange on! Gimme Quo Vadis again and u have my full support

I heard Robot Meloman from the DS website and what a great track... I'm not a big fan of progressive music, but this track made me change my mind... can't wait to listen to the whole album
When I dance, I put myself in the DJ's hands to take me to a journey - the unconscious journey to reality

i was also little dissapointed coz i´ve excpected some tracks in the style of Quo Vadis or Vibra fon ... but for sure its very cool shit compared to the "full on" stuff around ... anyway
ps: reminds me sometimes on Lotus Omega |
