Please would someone put my mind at ease and tell me that Americans ARE actually fun and have a sense of humour (or "humor" which is the US spelling i think)?
Every single fucking thread in this forum is bloody serious. And god forbid someone incorporate humour - or else everyone will be on his/her back. It seems jokes and humour are lost on majority of you.
There is a small handful of you guys who seem to be pretty rad and joke along. But somehow there is always someone, three posts on, stifling the humour.
I realise (again, South African spelling) it might be incredibly difficult for some of you to grasp tone/humour from text, but FFS dont be so quick to kill any attempt at whimsy! think for 3 minutes longer before posting. Maybe you misinterpreted the post? or maybe you should just leave the person be. Karma will get him/her for being rude, if he/she was in fact being rude.
I'm not one to complain. But i've been on this forum for a few months now and tried really hard to get into the swing of things and create some good reading material, whether it be serious or spam, and i have achieved nothing. I find myself THINKING of things to say, and thinking of a WAY to say it that the tone will not be misinterpreted. There is no spontaneity on this forum, because of the sour apples who seem to be intent on destroying anything which might elicit joy and laughter.
Sorry for the rant, but im fucking frustrated.
the sad part is i will keep coming back
thanks to those who are trying!

i think this forum is unfortunately to some extent a good representation of people in the real world. it is the battle that we fight every day, plowing through the negativity, be it ours or others, and trying to come through it all stronger and hopefully with a smile on our faces.
its okay though, we can see past it, and sometimes when we are lucky, the negativity in others brings out the best in us
i can attest to there being at least um 14 or more really truly hilarious people in the states... i think that there are quite a bit more.
humor is life, life is humor

Hehe... good stuff It makes it even more funny if you know Nick.. He totally needs a mayor hat
And on the issue. Isra has always been a strange forum but most forums are usually one big bitch fest from my experience. I guess you'll just have to come party with us and see for yourself.. When are you arriving in the states again Tizzy?

I've dropped my amazingly obnoxious dubstep remix of Darude's "Sandstorm" while playing at psytrance festivals, and always really enjoyed the sour looks I get from the super serious psytrancer folks...
Thus I would have to agree that some members of the North American scene are a bit lacking in the sense of humor department
but I also think people are much more likely to be bitchy/self-righteous/whiny/mean/etc. on a forum, as opposed to face to face - both because it's easier/less likely to involve significant consequences, and because one's state of mind while bored at work and posting on Isra is likely quite different than one's state of mind while rocking out at a festival

You guys are the reason I keep coming back
and yes, I know all about forum politics of being bitchy behind the anonymity of an online name, but I'd just had it up to *here* with trying to break the ice here.
feel much better now that ive ranted
Tequila, anyone?
